Haha you are welcome.

I now quickly shove on the caveat that I am a lawyer in Scotland so I am only of limited use insofar as answering your specific questions (as much as I love working out of hours, I really do.)

As far as planning apps go - always err on the side of caution. Speak to the council - it's not really worth the risk. It might seem a hassle paying an application fee now but believe me, it won't be half as bad compared to when a neighbour takes the hump and you're pulling it down. Even if neighbours don't take the hump if you ever come to sell the house you bet it will come back and haunt you then.

As far as the sign goes... you're on your own. I have no idea what the English position is and wouldn't like to speculate!

Steady Lads ! Have emailed Fiat with the full story and have been promised a reply within two working days. Looking forward to a speedy resolution.

Had to call Fiat as nobody had replied to our email after 6 working days. They hadn't emailed us as they had spoken to Perrys who said that they had completed the job correctly, but couldn't inspect the paint damage as we hadn't been back. Obviously they hadn't read our email that said that after all these second chances and damage to the paintwork we have no confidence in them and did not wish to return. End result is that a "Customer Relations Executive" will ring us at some point next week!

Will we ever get this car fixed? will Fiat ever ring back?

Watch this space again

I never understand why people email customer service departments. Call up! Emails will always be lower priority than a phonecall.

Time for a lot of people to start eating a nice juicy slice of humble pie!

The only person that I will see doing that will be you.

I have had many dealing and run ins with FiatUK, I found it was best to ring them as their email system is not the best and if they havent rang you back in the 48 hours give them a ring. Everytime I have done this the file handler generally calls you back the same day.

Most of the time its generally because they are still talking/ awaiting a response from the dealer or Fiat Italy, but always give them a chaser, besides its a free phonecall from a landline so you can harrass them all day (y)

Yeah, always call. Especially if it's a larger company. E-mail has become the great way of communicating if you want to avoid human contact but a call gets straight to the point.

I presume you have sliced yourself off a massive piece after the 'Rejection of a new 500' thread. That slice should be coming with a massive side of ice cream as well. Think before you push the smug button.
