General Saw my car disappointed

I'm sure that any colour will grow on you, when I bought my Triumph TR7 I was adamant that I wasn't going to have a red one, any colour except red would have been fine. Then the right car came along at the right price except it was red, I bought it anyway. A few years later when I got the bodywork up to scratch and took it back to bare metal for a respray guess what colour I went for!

Also from personal experience of my 500, black looks great when it's clean but it only seems to stay clean for about two days in the current weather conditions.

Rock and Roll blue is a pastel paint but I've just paid around an extra £400 for it on my eagerly awaited 1.2 lounge.

The fiat.co.uk configurator lists the rock & roll blue (pastel) at €265 or €300 Irish. There is a New Orleans blue which is metallic that is €425 but I don't see it on the UK configurator but it's still on the fiat.ie
I just ordered a white one today and I can still change the colour (the dealer puts the order through on Monday morning). Although I have kinda decided.

I didnt pay extra for the Black paint on mine. It had already been built when we ordered it so it must have been part of the deal. I looked on the Fiat website and it was the same price as the BNW.

If I had ordered Black today it would have cost an extra €425 since it was classified as metallic. You did well getting a 'bundled' price. The black needs the sport spec to do it justice.

If you really want black get the car wrapped in black. It will cost about £900.

OOh no .. I love the BNW .. it makes it a funky little car. I've chosen the black ambience and black/white chequered seating and know, without seeing it, I've chosen perfectly for me !

I pick "Tootle" up tomorrow at 10am .. to say I'm getting excited is an understatement.

I'm pleased for you.

I was chatting to my wife as to whether she would have chosen differently to the BNW 500 that she has had for three weeks and she says no.

Funnily enough, the thing she loves is the whiteboard she got for the dashboard.

She sticks up postcodes and times of where and when to pick up our daughter.

BTW our daughter has been insured to drive it for a month as she is taking her test soon and the other cars are autos.

It cost just under £100 to insure her for that purpose.

i think cars do have their iconic colours which they will be remembered for, for me 500 was white, especially love the white on the dashboard, for me though i wanted the black ambienence

its common to get jitters on colour, oddly i regret going met black on one of ours in hindsights for the comments made in this thread in terms of looking after it

i think the press fleet colours often tend to transpire into the popular colour choices given people can easily relate to this, the black one above was no coincidence given it was in VWs pressshots and i remember saying to the dealer i want a blue one like this picture in performance car

i believe go with your gut reaction and stick to it and enjoy it

Thanks for all the comments all.

I have been musing over this all weekend - I remembered why I went for the white - as then there would be a theme to the white ring on the speedo, white checked seats and then flow onto the dash. Also it highlights the glass roof.

However, despite all this I still now wish I had got the black:bang:

I pursuaded my mate to get a 500 as he we looking for a new car and he went for the black one within a couple of days of having it he was regretting getting it in black it shows up the smallest spec of dirt alot more than white does and whites pretty bad for it. you made the right choice getting white, although i wish id of got red :) but didnt want to wait 12 weeks for it when the BNW one was already in the back of the dealers due to a cancelled order

Speak to the dealer and see if they have someone to sell to and for you to order a new one in black. We chose red with ivory, I am told by a friend its Smeg on wheels :)

btw: Anyone know what is the build time these days ?

That is a good price, we have 2 girls to be added when we pick ours.

It's a company that specialise in doing insurance for those with a provisional licence and is intended for situations where they need short term insurance.

Can I mention the name here?

Tell me if you want me to send you a PM.

The major reason i went for black was that nearly every 500 i saw on the road in my area was bossa nova white and i didn't want to merge in with the crowd. In the last year i have only seen one other in black and that was spoiled by the chrome pack.

Thats why i went for black too. I also went for the standard 15" sport wheels as ive not seen anyone else with them. Ive seen 2 other black 500's but they were standard pop's.
