Hi,

OK - i've managed to get the radio out, and there's a whole heap of numbers and codes!

On the side, another barcode.
BLAUPUNKT GMBH
815BP638389524446

Fiat 312 MP3 SB05
7 646 383 316 034505

Another sticker next to a picture of a circuit board:
BP -Nr
7 646 383 316
Fiat Nr.
735 452 484 0

Thanks for donating to the forum.

Your code is: 4665
.

You don't need to drive the car, just leave the radio and ignition switched on continuously until the wait message goes. If you only tried a wrong code once, you should only need to leave the radio and ignition switched on continuously for 10 minutes.

If you've left the radio and ignition switched on continuously since Wednesday morning, you probably have a flat battery by now.

Ok - so FINALLY, today my radio stopped saying ' locked' and asked me for a code - and the code you gave me worked, thank you

A weeeek? That's the longest waiting time I've ever seen. Usually 24 hours is the absolute maximum.

How did you manage to leave the radio and ignition switched on continuously for a week without the battery going flat?

Glad it worked for you anyway.

Model Blaupunk Fiat 312 MP3 SB05

Do all the radios need a code?
Ours doesn't seem to need one.

My experience of codes and radios comes from a couple of cars I've owned, and you need to input the code after the battery has been disconnected.

With our 500, I had the battery disconnected for some hours last week, and the radio worked fine and has never asked for a code.

Thanks guys,
Mick.

The code is also stored in your car's body computer. If you put your radio in a different 500, or a different OEM radio in your car, it'll ask for the code.
