recent price increase means its £165 (it was £149) for second service inc plugs & brake fluid. Tappets extra as stated.

So you were wrong then ) and I stand by my original statement that you can not get a 2 yr service for a 1.2 for that price. How much would tappets be on top of that ... £100?

Got this from the small print
£165 headline figure
£35 brake fluid
£39 pollen filter
£59 valve clearance .. is this tappets? I dont know

Do you have to pay extra if you pay by card too?
Maybe an £10 charge if you dont bring your service book with you

There is little point in having such great headline figures when they do not cover the required schedule for the popular 500 petrol engine - and even if it did cover the engine ... Arnold Clark is just a dealership chain, and you would have to be pretty damn lukcy to live next door to one.

You don't happen to work for Arnold Clark do you?

Actually I work for myself and am very critical of arnold clark if you read my past posts, however I will add most people have a 10% discount card that go to this establishment . Tappets were not mentioned at the start of this thread and I am also of the opinion that the tappets do not need checked at this mileage.I think you will also find few faults occur with the tappets at this mileage. If the manufactuer thought this was so important they would enforce the checking of tappets which they do not.

Now with a little commonsense and cunning....you ask for a free healthcheck at the above mentioned establishment. This is very comprehensive and includes tyre check and adjust tyre pressures, top up of all fluids, lights, even suspension/steering check. Its only a visual check but these techs will know where to look. Now ask for a oil change (£25) and adjust/check tappets (£59) and brake fluid change (£35) ... add that little lot up, £119 for full manufactures service;) ....oh and dont forget your 10% discount! (£108)
