General buying advice Pop v Lounge

When I ordered my 500 in 2007 I would have been better off speccing the Lounge as most of the kit I added to my Pop is standard on the Lounge. However, I just could not put up with the migraine inducing cloth they use on the Lounge seats.:yuck:
Ditto here. I never actually considered the lounge at all until the wife specced the fixed glass roof on the sport we originally ordered which then meant it was cheaper to go for the lounge but change for leather.

Are there any pics anywhere of the interior of both cars?

I stole these off here and other sites when I was trying to decide. The lounge ones have the check cloth and the pop has the solid coloured cloth.

Depends on what extra kit you want, if you want most of the options that a lounge has, then its worth the £1500 premium.

However, in my case the features from a lounge that I wanted only amounted to about £700, and therefore did not make sense to me.

I wouldn't worry too much about resale differences, as I don't think there will be a big difference. Right now, the used car market - lounges are not commanding £1500 over their Pop cousins.

The interior is practically identical. If you buy the Pop - the options I would recommend you take a close look at:

Air Conditioning
Alloys (search this forum for threads on ride quality on 15" v 16")
Chrome Pack
Leather Steering Wheel

Personally I look the 8-ball gearstick on the Pop and would not upgrade it.

Buy the lounge. For Blue&Me alone its worth it. Blue&Me is the single greatest thing ever in the history of everything. I'm not being sarcastic here. When you use Blue&Me for a while and then step into a car that makes you change CDs you feel like you're stepping back into the dark ages. £25 for a 16gig usb stick, put all your music on it. Never fight with CD's and tapes again.

I am not a big fan of the white/ ivory interior and much prefer the black. However the red seats are not bad.

I can probably get the chrome interior afterwards - as its just the bezels.

I really like the red car with the black interior and the steering wheel controls.

I really would like a leather steering wheel but its not available aftermarket.

What people said to me when I was deliberating whether to have a pop with added bits or a lounge, was that a pop will always be worth pop money in future regardless of what you add as an option, and so a Lounge whose basic spec is higher will always be worth more. The main draw for me for the pop was the red seats as I loved them but ended up going for a lounge and leather seats. I really wanted the B&M functionality and I would really miss it in another car, mostly for the memory stick music bit. The glass roof is good as it lets in loads of light, I felt the sport I test drove was a bit dull inside with the black ambience and solid roof. Personal preference of course and its whatever you find most pleasing! If I bought one again now I would have the opening glass roof tho rather than fixed. If I could afford it which I doubt with the price rises people keep talking about.

If I was to buy again, I'd go for the 1.4, as I think anything over ten grand be it a Pop, Lounge or Sport is a tad expensive for a 1.2 car compared with what else is out there.

Whereas I would never buy the 1.4 because its tax is too high. Both the 1.2 and 1.3 cost £35 tax. Also its 10mpg worse than 1.2

Well of course it's whatever suits your needs. I bought the 1.2 with the cheap tax in mind, but find that the consumption is not that different to my 100HP, which gets driven a fair bit harder. Nothing wrong with the 1.2 , I just think it's maybe getting a bit pricey which sort of negates the tax saving. My Pop cost me £8700 in May 09 and would now cost £9840.
