Oh yeah there's a few would be 'racing drivers' which we should bow down to on this forum.

Ok so i'm not going to shout at anyone, but this is soooooo last year. The thing is, all the alternatives are crap for one reason: They were never cool to begin with Focus RS was a Focus, Corsa VXR was a Corsa, Civic Type R was a Civic etc, but the 500 is a cool car to start with, the Abarth version is in imo just a better version of an already good car. And i'm sorry but some of the childish comments being handed out on here just come across as jealousy tbh. Wanky? It's almost identical to the standard 500, the bodykit as Maxi says is not OTT at all, it's very practical. I also respect the fact that Fiat have made a tremendous effort on the interior too, i love how they've made every panel black, and then finished it off with a black headlining, looks smart. the seats are stunning too, in fact all the details on the interior are inspired from more expensive super cars! (although i must admit, the boost gauge does take a little getting used to)

So that's what i think :)

HAving driven the Corsa VXR as mentioned above I can safely say the drive is WAY better than the Abarth 500. But it is still a Corsa, I'd probably still by the Abarth 500 over a Corsa VXR.
I know someone who owns and drives both regularly, he says the Abarth is quicker and better to drive. Just his opinion of course, i wouldn't get in a Corsa VXR! :p

Just keep an eye out for the people who feel the need to criticise anything else or who feel the need to say that their car is as fast as something it's obviously not as quick as ;)

I'd like to draw your attention to this post again......

Hmm Jan 2010, glad I got mine mine last year so I didn't have to pay that 2.5% extra VAT and Euro price hike...... sorry what were we all talking about?

Same here (y) It's nearly a year since I initially ordered her as well! Doesn't time fly? Just wish the snow and ice here in freezing Oldham would bugger off as the Abarth doesn't seem to cope to well in it :(

Hmmm,

Corsa VXR 0-60 6.8s Top Speed 140mph

Abarth 0-60 7.9s Top Speed 127mph
If that's all that matters to you, then fair enough, compare all the figures you want on paper. They often differ from the real life figures anyway, sometimes quicker sometimes slower. But a car to me is more than just a few digits on a piece of paper. A lot of people use Top Gears method of deciding how good a car is, if it's on the lap board, and it's even 0.01 seconds quicker than the car below it, then it's a better car!?

I'm obviously sticking up for the Abarth, but i'm not applauding it in any way, it's been the most stressful unreliable and yet most expensive car i've owned, there's still a list of outstanding faults that need sorting. But if anybody asked me what would i buy instead, it would be the same car (probably)
