General loving your 500

Ive had mine now for 1 year, 5 months and i still have to turn back to look at her every time i get out and walk away or walk by her! She is the best car ive owned and ive owned several cars like Fiat Puntos, Pandas, Suzuki SJs, Ford Mondeo, Toyota Rav 4, Peugeot 306, ect......

Still take her to get photos of her and cant stop looking at her! Shes even the screen saver on my phone!!!!! :D
Also, when i see other 50s, i have to turn round to have a good glare at it n see what spec it is! Cant stop myself!!!!!!!

But yes, shes got a few niggles but im coping with them and she guzzles fuel. But looking at the range of choices you get now for the sport, you cant get the seat coverings like mine! Black leather and grey material! :S Also, the colour coded wing mirrors are an added option and are not standard!!!! :S So think i got a good deal when i got mine! :D

Love Bambi! Always have, Always will!!!!!!

LOL

Firstly you can still get the same seats, the "leather" isn't leather it's leatherette and colour coded side view mirrors are still and have always been standard on the sport and lounge spec.

Our 500 just gets better, ok its not fast but its fun and I drive hard which it enjoys. 1.2 engine is a gem and I've got used to the slightly numb steering and bouncing backend. It drives far better than reviewers say it does and is such a solid little car. My wife loves it too but she wants a black Abarth 500 in a couple of years time. I'd be happy to keep our 1.2 sport but I'm not arguing with her on that one!

couldnt agree more!

and it is exceptionally well built, very solid!

Well I'm, now on 12k with Original Cindy and I'm smitten. Sure we may have our arguments like when she turns off my usb mp3's and lets blue and me lady scream 'no media found' but apart from that we get on like a house on fire.

Gone of the days of my car just getting me from a to b. Now I can get there with a grin and some guitar riff action. I'm really pleased with the mods available and stylings. I'll post some upgrade complete pics now she is complete with rear window tints and all my styling mods finished.

:yum:

I was loving my 500 in Tesco's car park the other day but they saw me on the security camera and I got arrested...

Lol!

I am loving mine still too... and talking about Tesco car parks, whilst going back to the car last week we saw a woman routing her way into Tescos specifically to pass our car... she was so besotted that, as she walked past the boot, she completely didn't spot a random trolley and mashed it one!

Talk about turning heads! :p

Our little dude has the B&M mic issue as well... other than that, no problems yet.

crabman

Well, if Pewsham are as good when I take the 500 into them on saturday as they were when I rang them earlier to arrange it, then it will be awesome. As is, even with niggles, still epic!

Do you have a different car to me or something? I like my 500 and all but it's hardly epic!

Looks? Hardly epic

Now THAT is epic.

In terms of go none of the 500's are really all that fast compared to other cars you can get these days.

In terms of handling the hatchbacks are really not that great, Abarth's will be better but as shown on Top Gear last weekend there are better handling supermini's out there.

In terms of price you can get bettter equipped cars for cheaper. I could go on and on but I suspect I'd be wasting my time.

I must admit that I still love my little Phoebe, despite a few little niggles...

The driver's seat cushion is collapsing, so she's going in for a look at the dealer's next weekend, and I find the headlights not that great for driving in pitch black areas as I do...

But all in all, the only car I've ever had that I've been totally madly in love with! :)

Ahh, an Integrale, my dream car. Nowadays probably outperformed by many a modern hot hatch in but not in any area that's important to me. Just like the 500, not the best but it ticks all my important small car boxes. That Club Italia is gorgeous!!

We've got just over 3000 miles on one and just under 3k on the other and they are still fabulous.
I've been stopped and asked what mine is because they love the green By Diesel colour. All my wife's friends adore her tan leather & ivory ambience combination. One little fault on my wife's - Blue & Me microphone stopped working but replaced under warranty in about 15 minutes. The 1.2 is a little grumpy starting on cold damp mornings but that's a feature of the model so I've heard. Drove around Northumberland and Scotland for a week in the 1.2 (left the 1.4 at home) and averaged over 50mpg - almost as good as my old Mini One diesel.
Not happy with dirty weather though!
Roll on springtime with the sound of birdsong and the smell of Zymol!

Funny how right at the end you just flash onto reality like BAM! :ROFLMAO:

Oh sh*t no really? I never picked that up before! :D(y) That is what is odd about them- not the best, but just something about them!

Certainly, pros and cons can should always be considered when deciding on which make and model of car to buy.

However, sometimes the reason for purchasing a particular car can be intangible!

Can you remind us once more what car you settled for in the end? :D

I've had mine almost a year and covered just over 4100 miles, and I am still very much in love with my car. He still makes me smile and I still love looking out for other 500's :D

My only complaint is with the dealership and Fiat customer service (lack of) when the dealership scratched and chipped the paint on my bumper.
Not the car's fault. Just poor customer service and lack of quality workmanship.
