As we haven't got a garage, we've bought a Monsoon all weather car cover for our 500C. The hem is elasticated, the inside is soft and fleecy, and there are two straps that pass underneath for wind restraints. As you can see the cover is tailored, right down to the mirror pockets. There are two air vents on each side at cant rail level to control moisture build up.

We waited a while before fitting this to allow the paint to harden. It's easy to fit, but we'll see how convenient it is to use. The car is 'ours' but registered in my wife's name. She's not a frequent road user, and I've done most of the 380 miles that we've recorded so far. Although I have the works car, the cinquecento is such a cheery car to drive I can scarcely leave it alone! If the car was in regular daily use the cover might be more than we'd want to fiddle-faddle with, but for a lightly used car I think it should help keep our baby in good order. We'll see.

BTW The dog was removed before fitting the cover. :)

Sounds like a good idea, right up until you have to remove it on a cold windy rainy day...

You'll soon stop wanting to use it - lol :bang:

Especially when that nice soft fleecy stuff is covered in dirt having blown across your garden :D

the only problem with car covers is that the car needs to be spotlessly clean before fitting them...(n)

i would rather spend the money on a protective valet for a car that lives outdoors (y)

for a show car that lives indoors however a cover is a great idea

Would love to have a cover but I park on street so I'd be as well writing kick me on the side of the car.

Yea that's the thing, how often is the car clean and dry before you put the cover on? I always only ever put mine on after a good clean/polish etc even though it lives under a carport anyway (well i don't want it to gather dust do I!) Got mine from Lidl about 5 years ago, cost £8, worth every penny! Here's the Bagarth, sorry Abarth  Not much of it left showing!

The cover-zone covers are very good at first, I've had several for my sports car, but they have never reached the end of the 2 year warranty period without failing in some way. This is usually cracking or tearing of the outer finish. They were very good at warranty replacements at first, but not as good now for me.
Make sure you keep that invoice handy.
The covers do protect the paintwork very well though.
