Well, since the Euro is pretty much at parity with the pound that makes the 500 a pretty expensive little car.
Thanks for the info.

Re: new 1.3 MJet 95 HP engine prices

I reckon they'll hike the prices of the Multiar, and charge more for the 95. Ford has today raised its prices by 2.7% and the rest will have to keep increasing too. The £ is worth very little these days and it's only because we get so much from China, which has linked its currency to the near-bankrupt dollar, that we don't notice too much.

I hope prices are not so high myself, believe me.

It would make sense to put the price of the 75bhp down, rather than the 95bhp up.

Re: new 1.3 MJet 95 HP engine prices

With the pound having fallen 30% in a year I'm afraid they'll all be increasing their prices again. Also the Multiair costs more to make. There is no way they can afford to cut prices for a car with such a high demand, unless they want to sell it at a loss which would be insane.

Anybody taking delivery now should be happy because in another year they could easily be paying £1000+ more. Same goes for pretty much everything else I'm afraid.

I guess the first time we will know prices for sure is when the engine options appear on the configurator, until then just interesting speculation. Anybody want to open a book?

I thought that this engine was a replacement not an addition.

Re: new 1.3 MJet 95 HP engine prices

It seems they can't overnight replace all the old engines with Mutltijet2s and Multiairs, so for the time being both will be available. Simple production constraints I believe.
Fiat said it hopes to completely replace all the old engines within two years however.

I don't think so. It's coming to the entire 500 range. At least I hope so
