Hi all,
I now have my one year old 1.4 Sport in Black & Chrome.I'm very pleased with it so far.In fact it has a name already.I am a fan and collector of early '60's R&B and Northern Soul records so my 500 is called "Mojo" :D Has anyone else named theirs?
Slowly getting to grips with the technology..next step is to plug my mobile phone, which is also my ipod type thing, into the USB and try to get the music to play through the cars system.
Today, I shall also look at fitting my Advanced Motorists badges to the grill below the lights.
Really enjoying the 500 experience!
Oggie.

You dont seem to see many people saying they have got a second hand one.

Did you get a good deal or a way to avoid the waiting list?

Black and chrome looks awesome..

I never considered a brand new one.I'd been looking at Minis and had various road tests. My daughter put us onto Fiats which I really knew nothing about.
The price I paid for this 1.4 sport with 6500 miles on the clock with the previous owner being Fiat company would have got me a 3-4 year old Mini with 30-35K miles on the clock. The running costs ie Tax,insurance etc sealed the deal..no contest really!

I bought a second hand one - a new 1.2 Pop was just out of my budget with Chrome Pack and A/C.

I bought it second hand and saved myself 30% of the list-price and 3 month wait, for the same car I would have configured.

Of course, some say there is nothing like the feeling of being the first owner - but I wouldn't know as never have bought one from new! Either way, is nice that someone else has paid the depreciation.

We bought our 1.2 Sport 9 months old for £8500, new it would have cost over £11000. The car has options that we definitely wouldn't have specified (fixed glass roof and two tone alloys) and we probably wouldn't have specified the leather either (purely on cost) but the colour is exactly what we wanted and the wait from looking at the car and driving it home was about 20 minutes. Enjoy "Mojo" i have called mine "louie" because of the letters in the registration number.... Keep the Faith..;)

sounds like some peeps have got some good 2nd hand deals!

i have been keeping and eye on second hand prices, but most on autotrader seem silly money listed, I know there is always a bit to negotiate off... but i didnt think that much!

I'm starting to get the hang of the 500 now.Fiat seem to have thought of everything! I've got my memory stick installed in the USB port with a couple of hundred Soul tracks on random play..A few days ago I was still making Tape cassettes for my Renault Scenic!
I'm using the wax cleaner called "Greased Lightning - Showroom shine" unbelievably..you dont need any water..just two microfibre cloths!! Gives a beautiful deep finish in minutes (I didn't believe it at first either!)
I thought the Sport button might be a bit of a letdown but it really improves the performance, turning the mild 1.4 into a fire breathing dragon! (slight exaggeration, but it is very good)

So far so good for the 1.4 Sport!
Best wishes,
Oggie.
