i put my old car to the garage for scrap..ordered a 500..then 2 weeks later changed plans..i gave my old car to my mother..so now im paying full price for my new Fiat..however i wish i had tried [before ordering my car]to get something thrown in ..as i will be paying cash..would be nice to have those Fiat foot mats ..at £50 they are pretty expensive..but im probably too late now.:bang:

Assuming your car was pretty worthless, why didn't you continue to use your car on the scrappage scheme, and buy your mother a cheapy?

Why would you expect to get anything for free?

You could try and factor in a small discount and some 'freebies' when ordering the car maybe, or if buying a used one, but at the end of the day why should you expect to be able to get free things?

I mean when I got my used car I got £300 off, 6 months tax, full service and fresh MOT, but this was only because the car was overpriced in the first place, so getting them included made the price acceptable.

I placed my order on 27 sept so near the end of the month and the quarter. There had been a big football game the previous day and the garages were dead. My spec came out at 10,960 which I negotiated to 10,500. I am not much of a negotiator but was happy with that. it's more difficult when you have already placed the order. But you could start to have 'second thoughts' if you haven't paid a large deposit and see if that get's you any ground.
