as above anyone done it ?? what gains did you get and what did it cost ??

obviously the warranty isnt going to hold up, my local dealer did show me a pic of somebody over mapping it and cooking the engine

but the engine must be good for 160bhp as the essesse kit takes it to that but there is no way its worth 2700 of my money

so anyone have any points to pass on (y)

There is no overmapping. Either it is correctly or wrongly.

To get the best out of this engine some re-working is advisable.

The engine is good for well over 260bhp and today a 360bhp version is doing a 6 hours endurance race.

260 + wow smart

i'm gonna use it see how much i get bored if i get bored then go from there, i do fancy a nice 200bhp go kart lol would be interesting racing my Type R

the question is has anyone do it tho ?? and what figures have you gained with what mods ??(y)

Yeah but how long will the engine last when producing those sort of figures?

for the mostly urban trips i make, the power is fine for me - and even if it wasnt i wouldnt even look at remaps until the warranty has expired.

and as for fiats laughable '£2750 for 25bhp' kit-for-suckers, i wouldnt touch that in terms of value even if it were half the price :)

Well you do get better springs and brakes so it's not just £2750 for 25bhp.

But on the whole I do agree, there are better bits available for cheaper.

Yea but it's not £2750, it's £2500 from some dealers and £2000 if you ask if you can trade your wheels in (which they can then sell at £700) £2000 for re-map, springs, filter, brand new 17" wheels with tyres and a two year warranty is pretty good value if you ask me. I wouldn't buy it because it's money you'll probably never get back, but wheels and tyres alone are worth at least 1K surely. Sanspeed do remaps or full tuning packs, for £7000 you can get 270 BHP!

Someone's having a joke with you. Blackcircles or mytyres will do it MUCH cheaper.
Unfortunately they weren't - Michellin Primacy HP 17" extra-load's really are that much. So obviously I went for something cheaper, Goodyear NCT's through BlackCircles for £133 each :)Was alarmed to see the "extra-load" stamp on the 500's tyres, thankfully it doesn't seem to make much difference for those :)

Silly cost!!!!!

I could put 4 good tyres on the 500 for that price. If you're on 16's I wouldn't worry, you can get decent tyres for about 50-60 pounds.
