I will explain my question when I read your responses. I'm referring to the Fiat factory fitted sensors, not dealer fitted ones.

No, factory fitted are neat, flush fitting with a perfect colour match. Dealer fitted are bigger, sit proud of the bumper and possibly a poor colour match.

The only "problem" I've had is just that I don't find them loud enough. Also, it took me a bit of time to get used to the fact that they don't kick in straight away as they did on my previous car, now that I'm used to it and turn the stereo down they're fine - in that they work fine , do the job they should do, just not in the same way that my old car's ones did

I have factory fitted, which are excellent, and in my opinion, the only ones to have. A friend of mine ordered her 500 with parking sensors. When she received a call fom the dealer saying her car had arrived, she went to view it. They were actually fitting the sensors when she got there. My friend quite rightly assumed they would be factory fitted as they were on the original order, so asked the dealer why they were fitting them. The salesman informed her that there were problems with the Fiat ones, and that's why they were fitting them. I believe this is a blatant lie, as I've heard of no such problems on this forum, and I'm sure someone would have said something if there had been. What gets me is the salesman telling a lie like this when obviously they forgot to order the car with them. Worse still, the colour match is poor, but I haven't got the heart to point it out, as she hasn't commented on that. I'm a car salesman myself (at a Mazda Dealership), and what I would have done, was to ring the customer as soon as realising the mistake, and giving her the options. 1.Have dealer fitted
2.Go without the sensors
3.Order another car wth factory fitted
4.Cancel the order
After all, these cars are selling well, I'm sure 1.2 Lounge in Cha Cha Cha Azure with Ivory ambience wouldn't be a problem to sell.
So the point of my question in this post is just to give the salesman the benefit of possibly telling the truth.

I've been having problems with my sensors (staying as a constant beep even though I'm nowhere near anything, (for over 10 metres). Going to give the car a good wash and see if its just muck thats making them play up before I complain though.

TBH I wouldn't get too excited about the difference. Once they've had the car five minutes it will be neither here nor there.

No problems with my factory fit ones though. Indeed they're much better than those on my Citroen (respond quicker).

Believe me, I think these dealer fit ones look hideous. If they had done it to me, I would have rejected the car.

I've fitted loads of aftermarket kits, never had a problem. Reason customer wants them is so they dont hit anything not because they look good.
I don't agree. If they didn't look good, I wouldn't of had them. The Fiat factory fit are a quality item, which the car deserves.

Thats a personal opinion. Theres nothing wrong in the operation of aftermarket kits (that IMO often work just as good if not better in some cases) the look is just a matter of opinion.

I have put black sensors on white 500's:eek:

We fitted black ones to silver a Chevrolet Kalos this week and they didn't look out of place. A case of perceived quality etc.

We always colour code the sensors we fit, but in this particular case, the customer was swapping in a Kalos with black ones.(He said that was how he liked them).
