Hi all, I am new to this forum. I usually check out the site as I am purchasing a 500. I ordered it in august and was told I should be getting it in 6-12 weeks.

Well, November has arrived and I still havnt got my car. I rang my dealer and he said the car should be on its way.

I rang again and they said the car is coming in December I made a complaint as I have had no car since august and I have been waiting for ages!! I received a letter today saying my car is coming next year!! I am in two minds about keeping the car now. Will i receive my deposit back? Has this happened to anyone else?? I really don't know what to do..

Hi there, I'm also in the same boat as you. Was advised 12 weeks when ordering, have now been advised 18-20 weeks.

You'll find on some of the other threads that this seems to becoming a regular issue for those that ordered August onwards.......although there's still many that are getting there's within the 12 weeks lead time.

As I've found, contacting Fiat Head Office is a waste of time as they just quote what the dealer have said and state there's nothing they can do.

I was also told by Fiat that I would not get my deposit back.

There's no real pattern to this unfortunately.

oh dear...in the letter i received it says that delivary is taking a long time due to the government scrappage scheme and a high demand of 500s.

I have been waiting so long and its getting really anoying now! :bang:

I've been waiting since july 12 for a 1.2 lounge with no extras. Had words with the dealer because they had lost the order. I've been promised the car for mid december. Big problem i have is my current car wont start when its damp or rainy.

uh-oh well this weather isn't going to help u much..its so miserable!

oh no u poor sod, keep waiting it will be worth it in the end, i ordered mine on the 8th august and got it on the 5th october so there is no pattern whatsoever

I ordered mine 16th August and got it on 20th October! I was told an estimated delivery date of 23rd December though, so yeh, there doesn't appear to be any real pattern.

I ordered 5/8/09 was due end of oct, was told mid oct that due to scrappage orders taking priority by getting bumped up the list (those that were nearing 4mth time lmit) I will be 'lucky' to get my 500 in time for christmas, possibly the new year, if that is the case I would have to pay vat increase. Now I have nothing against customers using the scrappage scheme however I think it is disgusting that orders are being prioritised in this way. I feel my order is as good as anybody's, so not only am I waiting longer I could also have to pay an extra £250 for the priviledge!. I have complained but as expected the response was next to insulting, its only because I really really want my 500 that I have not cancelled and don't FIAT know it , they can't lose. Ah well sorry for the rant just wanted to let you know you are not alone in your anger

i totally understand! It's soo frustrating..u keep being given random dates so u don't know when ur 500 is going to turn up.

Mine was meant to come on the 21st dec but the date has been changed AGAIN to the 1st week of Jan
