Evening all

Just wondering about the 12v socket - I had difficulties with a tyre inflater in it, it kept popping out. Same inflater is fine in my other car

Have the same thing with my GPS charger plug. Just keeps poppin out causing bad connection so the GPS wants to switch off all the time. In my Astra it fits perfectly... Seems like the 12v power socket in the 500 is a bit larger than on other cars

I actually wondered if the issue could be that it's not so deep, so the springs don't go in far enough to get a good square pressure?

I have the ciggy lighter rather than just the power socket. Don't know if they are exactly the same, but it is fine with my TomTom.

I have a power socket in my Panda, but I use a 4 socket adaptor with flying lead, in the year it's been in, it's never moved to loose contact.

Is there something we can buy, so the chargers etc.. fits better? Like the socket for cigaret lighter? It is a minor issue, but still kind of annoying those times you really have to use the standard socket for something

Thanks for replies... So far have blown the 15a fuse twice looking at this. Never try a different brand fag lighter in the 500!

yep, pull out the powerpoint and push in lighter socket. You will need the lighter socket base and illumination ring, no need to buy lighter element unless you smoke of course.

Cant remember prices off hand.
