General 500c rear window heater

I'm gonna give this a try myself. Bought a lovely little 'white with red roof 09 plate' for my daughter. She loves it but there are a few little 'niggles' that need sorting. This being one of them. Hopefully this fix'll sort our problem out too. Love this site. So useful and as Chris3234 has said, I bet the dealers hate it! :)

Next, sort the squeaky clutch (lube master cylinder), dashboard heater panel lights (bulbs bought) and get bluetooth installed for music and phone functions.

A dad's work is never finished.

Graham;
The correct procedure is as attached below.
Use it if you can't open the boot and/or if the rear demister's not working or if the roof's been stopped by hitting something (like roof-bars in my case).
Also, if you ever find the roof will open to the 'spoiler' position but not fold completely down, check the boot's properly latched!

Thanks Piccolo, very useful. My daughter tends to not have the roof all the way back when driving, as it completely blocks her rear view mirror's 'view'. Bit of a design flaw that. :)

It does block the internal rear-view mirror but you get used to using the door mirrors. Reversing is the real test - I don't know if a 2009 UK car would have reverse sensors, they weren't universal - certainly not here anyhow. My 2013 Lounge cabrio has them but it was a limited edition "Twinair" badge with a few extras. My wife's 2013 Pop cabrio does not have them and the confidence with which I approach a reversing situation in mine evaporates when I'm doing the same thing in hers.

I've often considered a reversing camera but where on earth could one fit the monitor?

When you want to reverse just put the roof up so you can see through the window. Takes all of what? 3 seconds and you can do it while still moving forward. A lot less hassle than fitting a camera ??
