JUST HAD A CALL FROM MY DEALER. MY CAR NOW WONT BE HERE UNTIL FEB 2010 AFTER LAST WEEK BEING TOLD IT WOULD BE HERE AT THE END OF THE MONTH!!!

Now back at status 10???

Scrappage deals getting priority over normal buyers, just been given this info by the dealer...

WHAT A JOKE!!!

:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

When did you order? I really would take dealer info with a pinch of salt... If you are really worried, contact Fiat head office and get them to look into your order for you... they could help things along quite nicely :p

Scrappage buyers aren't getting priority first of all.

Do you have an order form for the car? If so then call Fiat up with the order number and just tell them what's happened and if not still call them up and they'll chase it up with the dealer.

I don't often side with the customer on these forums because most of the time they're being stupid and unreasonable but you've certainly got a reason to complain.

What gives you the right to say "Customers are mostly being stupid and unreasonable",the clue is surely in the title "The Customer",without these there would be no dealers etc, secondly although the official line is that scrappage buyers aren't getting priority we all know they are..........or are we all being stupid again!!

Well the fact that I have the right to free speach is what gives me the right to say that. Don't give me this "Without us there are no dealers so they should lick my bum when I ask them to" rubbish, it's simply not the truth. People need cars so without dealers there are no cars and we go back to riding horses, the day people realise that it's a two way relationship is the day people get on with most dealers.

Fiat customer care said that on the phone.
That's poor then. What did they say that they could do about it? I would be asking for some sort of compensation if they can't bring the date forward and I'd also be asking for an explanation of why your date of delivery has moved by 3 or 4 months all of a sudden....

Customer care people are stupid... you need to raise an issue with Head Office. It would be completely unacceptable for your car to go to DOWN status codes!

I can't believe scrappage would be being given a priority unless Fiat somehow are liable if they deliver scappage cars after the scheme has closed.

And Kop... you need to chill... Maxi is right, more often than not the customers are told 13 weeks, and by week ten are battering down the doors wanting freebies because they've been waiting 'so very long'. To be honest, I would have thought if scrappage was getting priority then my non-scrappage car would have taken alot longer than 12 weeks... no?

My issue was not with what Maxi said about the issue (as most of it was true),but the fact that you can not go around calling people "stupid" without knowing all the facts even under the guise of free speech,if you think about it buying a car is the second most expensive thing most people spend their money on so it's bound to be an emotive issue.

ps Maxi if I offended you then I appolgise but I do think you should choose your words a bit more wisely (y)

No probs :) I've heard worse so I'm not offended :)

I wasn't calling everyone stupid but you need only have a look around this forum and you'll see some rather funny and rather ignorant complaining being done by people. It just seems that the 500 attracts quite a lot of people who aren't car people and you then get people who don't understand the processes and mechanics of the ordering process and of the car itself.

My problem is that people rarely put themselves in the shoes of the salesperson or someone working at Fiat. How do you expect to get empathy when you've no empathy for the people you're dealing with?

As I said in my post the OP is being perfectly reasonable in being pissed off and seems a reasonable chappie or chappette :)

There now wasn't that better and delivered very eliquently.......:worship:

You can try calling Fiat Customer Services - I did so several times during my own frustrating and extended wait. Not sure how much is sped things up (not at all I suspect) but it made me feel better. I didn't bother taking out on my dealer as felt it wasn't his fault and nothing he could do either.

I was also told that the scrappage scheme was causing long waits for some people who weren't using the scheme. I tend to believe it to be true and interesting that you have had an actual admission of this!

Gosh heated debate time neatly rears its ugly head again. Some people are easily baited by others chewing for an argument.
