:cry:Yes after 2 weeks i have done something with my new car that i have never done in 25 years of driving, I have scuffed the front left 16" Multispoke alloy. A large articulated lorry came round a corner too fast and travelled across the center line of the road ahead of me and i had to brake sharply and pull to the left to avoid hitting him and hit the Kerb.

Is this easily repairable or should i be looking for a new wheel?

That can be repaired, no problems. It's better to have scuffed your wheel than to have been hit by a truck!

Cheers Lloyd71 at the time i never thought about injury to myself all i could think of was damage that could have happened to the car but you are right it could have been a lot worse. I have been checking with a couple of local companys and they seem to think it won't be a problem to fix and match the colour. :)

do you both have the 16inch multi spokes?

thinking of selling mine for £80ish as 1 is skuffed and all need new tyres, but id break them up if there was enough interest????

I have never scuffed an alloy in 20 years driving, either, but all 4 of mine are scuffed to heck. My conclusion is that it's just a dire design, with the alloy sticking well out beyond the tyre. Give me a dished wheel any day. If you're thinking of buying a 500, which I do recommend, don't buy the 16" multi-spokes.

My conclusion is that you drove into the kerb and that's why they're scuffed. I've had my car for 4 months and neither the wheels nor tyres have a scuff mark on them.

I've done exactly the same mate, same wheel too. There is a few places in Plymouth that repair them tho.

As someone who is shortly about to put their order in for ther 500 which wheels would you choose if you were buying again then? - if the multispoke are that easy to scuff!! (it will take a lot to sway me away from them though!!)

Thanks.

Well I've had 4 months of driving my car and never once scuffed them. If you're the sort of person who does braille parking then don't get them, but if you are able to park next to a kerb without hitting it then buy them. The tyres that are put on as standard DON'T have a rim protection ridge and the tyres are low profile so they will always scratch easily. The wifes car has 60 section tyres (the 16" wheels have 45 section tyres so are have about a third LESS sidewall) and you can drive it up kerbs and scrape it along kerbs and all it does is scuff the tyre which isn't a huge worry.

lol.. wheels dont go around scuffing themselves !! - its not the wheel thats high risk, its the driver and territory :D
Exactly. The OP is a prime example! Not his fault that something came around the corner in the middle of the road of course but the wheel didn't kerb itself.

where you after some 14" hub caps a while back? I am sure I saw some genuine 500 ones on ebay. Different design to the 500 pop ones. Maybe off the 500c
I've got a set of 4 wheels nicely repainted in black with some genuine hubcaps now :) It's pissing my wife off no end and I really should put them in the shed now!
