Evening all, Im Jim and soon i will be taking delivery of a 1.2 pop in yellow :)

I have a few questions with regards to the Fiat 500. After doing a few searches, i could not get a definitive answer to these...

1. What size wheels fit the 500 best?

2. What size would suit the car best without altering the suspension, could i fit 17s on standard without rolling the arches or playing with spacers??

3. If a size looks better lowered, is there a good combination of lowered suspension to size?

4. Are there any changes that i should make on the car from the start?

Thats all for the time being.

Abarth have 17s
but if you search previous you will find that they not as good with big wheels.:slayer:

16's are as big as you want to go without changing the suspension. There's no point in going any bigger than 16 anyway as the standard width of tyre for the 17" wheels is 205 and to be honest even the 195's are a ridiculous width for a puny little engine like the 1.2 and they do put quite a lot of drag on the 1.2. Unless you really need the rubber band look go for 16" wheels :)

Here is my car on the 16" multispokes, if it was lowered a little bit I'm sure it would look better but it's fine as it is :)

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo you can't kill an XSI for a 500!

My car isn't lowered at all, that's just standard :)

I quite like the option rims on the 500. The Sport ones are nice and I really do like the 16" multispokes I have.

Don't have a 306 Maxi but here's a picture of me taking a picture of one :p

Naughty naughty....If I were the Post Chief there, you wouldn't be standing there ;)

Nice car though

I was just walking over to where all the other photographers were standing. That was the first time I ever saw a 306 Maxi so I had to stop and wasn't too bothered if I got run over :p

I went through all the above, and after listening to the kind folks on here decided to stay at 16" rather than go up to 17"

ALthough in the end I did change over from the standard 16" multispokes that came with the car, to some 16" Abarth wheels I picked up from Ebay.

So I went from

garage_attachment.php

To

garage_attachment.php

Still thinking hard about having a wee bit of a drop on the suspension.

But I would listen to the nice folks here and not bother with 17" - The ride on the 16"s is fine

Bear in mind 3rd party alloys need to be declared to insurance. Probably better to get factory wheels TBH.

At 25, declaring mods is not a problem, thanks for your concern...

flashyphotos, i like your wheels... I have another question, what is the offset and stud pattern dia. size of the 500 wheel?

I cant seem to find the correct one on ebay without using stupid 'wobbly bolts' :bang:

ET35 4*98. As far as I know wobbly bolts aren't really a problem as long as you stick to a maximum of 2mm out as on 4*100 :)
