Hi guys,
What i was reading about the oil change and all the stories i was wondering, do you guys ever worked on your car yourself ?
I've been working on cars for over 30years now, mostly BMW's and a change of oil and filter is kidsplay i must say.
For the answer how to reset the 500's oillight you do not to buy any hardware, just put the contact(ignition) on (do not start) en within 10seconds you push the accelerator in 3 times and the light is resetted.
Cheers
Hi,
The hardest part on modern cars can be getting the undertray off and on.
Your trick may reset th service light, but it's not enough on modern diesels with DPFs. See my post above. You can buy Multiecuscan (MES) for €50 and an interface for about €30. Highly recomended for any owner of a modern Fiat who does their own maintenance. It will pay for itself first time you don't have to visit a dealer for reset. No connection with MES other than happy customer. There are other options, notably AlfaOBD.
