General Do you wave/flash lights at other 500's

I've given up flashing and waving. No one has ever returned the greeting. They either look like frightened rabbits or just look bemused.

Wow, after 3 weeks or so with the car I got my first wave today – from a guy in a white pop. I waved back but a bit late so I hope he noticed!

When I first got my car I intended to wave at people til I realised there are about a billion 500s around the places I drive (mostly white lounges), and none of the drivers ever seemed to be paying any attention to me in my 500  – so I never bothered.

But that one wave this morning really made my day so I think I'm gonna start waving at them all now. :)

down here in Victoria, Australia, i haven't seen a 500 in about 3 months. And even then, the time before than was about 2 months, and then about 3 from then. I'd be ecstatic if i saw another 500.

Yeah but because you have a European car you can pretend that it's a luxury/prestige car :p

I still see more 500s when driving the Land Rover.

However, when driving the 500 I have noticed that flashing and waving at a 59 plate car gets nothing at all, some of the original adoptors are more aware of other 500s.

Cheers

I intend to wave/flash at other 500s.

Although:

A - I have an Abarth and might get looked down upon by "normal" 500s.

B - It's difficult to tell another 500 in the dark. By the time I've realised, it's too late.

C - I rarely see any others. There's a White 500C at work and a white Abarth that lives somewhere in the same area as I do. But they're really the only 2 I see.

Yellow Van Man!

I get flashed most mornings by a man in a yellow van near wigan, he is either flashing me because I'm in a 500 or he is a serial flasher. he makes me giggle any ways.

If any one knows of a yellow van driving 500 obsessive or serial flasher please let me know!

Many thanks

Leebee & original cindy
Well some people think that DRL's are foglights so they were most likely flashing you because of them.

There's a woman I drive past most days who's very keen! Today while driving on a bit of bumpy B road @ 60 mph with her probably doing 50 or so she was still waving!!!!!! Devotion or death wish? :p

I would, but I haven't yet met another 500 while driving (only had mine for 2 weeks). I do see them often though, just not while driving myself.

But everytime I go to one of the local malls, there's always at least one other 500 on the parking lot. I always park next to another 500 if possible, even if there's an empty space closer to the entrance. One Fiat 500 looks good, two next to each other looks even better :)

Nice work blurring the plate on the white 500 (y) Most here wouldn't think twice about posting someone elses plate but you've showed some consideration for the owner of the other car (y)

Ooooh, you obviously were so distracted by the white 500 you broke the golden rule and parked next to a child wagon!

A few months ago another lady with an almost identical 500 parked next to me, it was great.
I had this kind of smug feeling that we had the best cars in there!

However on the comute to work I have noticed that the 500 drivers of Sheffield are boring and do not even acknowledge in anyway at all. As soon as I cross over the boarder to the homeland, everyone is much more friendly, and quite enthusiastic.
