Having collected our (well the wifes) 500c this week, other than the minor dealer issues we are more than pleased with it. Though I hate to admit, I didn't think it would float my boat, it never fails to raise a smile on me

However being a dealer ordered model it is a 'vanilla' spec with cloth seats.

We're used to a bit of luxury, specifically leather seats - the Treg had leather and my last 4 cars, and current, have had it too.

So I'm thinking about having leather fitted.

Has anybody here had / looked into having leather retrofitted to a 500 and have any recommendations.

get very good write ups in another forum I look at and Skoda Fabias come in around £800, four seats and 4 door cards (I have a Superb which the wife originally said 'Skoda' and 'Superb' should not be in the same sentence ;) - though she is a convert now (y)). The 500 must be a good deal cheaper than this.

They mainly deal with dealers, so customer comes in wants xyz car with leather, they find a car in a field with their spec minus the leather. Seat Surgeons supply and fit for significantly less than option price in the book - dealer very happy with additional margin - Kerching.

Look at the options (colours / stitching options), I may be making a call soon

Personally I'd look at finding a wrecked 500 and taking the leather seats out of that assuming the airbags haven't deployed of course. I saw a CCBA 500 which had this sort of setup and it looked horrible. The other thing to consider is that the leather seats are the same shape as sport seats because leather being slipperier needs help holding you in. If you just leathered up some pop/lounge shape seats I think you'd be sliding around quite a bit.

Leather seats are (as you probably already know) very hot in the summer and very cold in the (Scandinavian) winter.

And if you make a fast turn with pop cloth seats you'll "slide off" - and I guess it would be even worse with pop leather seats ;)

So i would also recommend leather seats from a sport as the only option.

I'm also in search of a wrecked sport with vintage leather "unfortunately" ;) I haven't found one yet.

Leather seats in all the models are exactly the same design.

Hi yeh, I didnt want to wait the 12 weeks for the leather interior so my dealer arranged for my seats and door trims to be retrimmed at the same price as fiat charged for leather seats. Only as mine is a lounge, I also have a seat compartment as apposed to the leather sport seats which you have to spec for the leather.

Yip that's my seats, I know what you mean about the standard sport seat, as the sport seats have higher sides to keep you in I believe. Its not just the seats I had done tho they done all 4 headrests which have little zipped covers (which In my opinion, looks better than the white plastic) and the door panels are done as well, with all the labels on the sides of seats stitched back in and etc. Very happy with the overall job.
