Hi All,

Newbie on site, currently in negotiations with dealer for a new 500 (1.2 lounge). Trying to get the monthly payments down!! Looks like Jan delivery though. Can i ask a few questions:

I asked if i could have a rear spoiler fitted to the lounge model and the quote came back as £350 - is this price the same in other people's experience? seems a bit pricey to me.

by looking on this forum it looks as though the Interscope Stereo is a must upgrade for music lovers, so i will do that. :)

Also if its being delivered in Jan do you think I should ask them to confirm that the price will not be subject to any future VAT rises?

Anyone had any luck negotiating the usual - new mats, tank of petrol, ipod lead/adaptor etc

Much appreciated

Calvin

I got mats FOC (and that was using scrappage too!) Sure you can wangle something especially if you're not using the scheme.

I personally would avoid finance with the dealer though. Its personal preference but when you look at the APR you do get done over if you go with them (something like 11/12%). Look online for a loan, I got 7.9% APR and will pay off in 2 1/2 years (but I wanted it cleared ASAP so have high repayments)

You could get the rear spoiler fitted for less than that but probably not a huge amount less. Is there any reason why you want to go for a lounge over a sport in your situation? I own a lounge so it might seem strange for me to be saying go for the sport but the Lounge wheels just aren't as nice as the sport ones which meant I was spent extra money for nicer wheels (a matter of taste of course), the sport seats are more supportive and nicer, you can get the sunroof for £300 (less than the spoiler) and you also get foglights which will make the car look just that little bit more butch which I'm guessing is why you want the spoiler.

Just looked on Ebay and someone's selling a complete rear hatch with spoiler for a 500 for £199 but it's Funk white which probably won't help you!

Thanks Miss R - probably should have mentioned it's a PCP quote!! Dealer has quoted me 8.5% APR, i have asked them to go and look at it and come back to me! Toyota, Ford and Mercedes are all quoting 4.9%. Fingers crossed for an affordable quote!

306maxi - yeah it was a big decision between the sport and the lounge, but in the end it came down to the fact that the check seats where nicer than the fog lights which we could have retro fitted at a later date if necessary!

Heidi - thanks, that's exactly what I thought! damn - was hoping to get in beforehand. it does only add about £300 to the price (if it were to go back up to 17.5%) but that's still £300 I wouldn't have to pay if Italians didn't have the luxury of 3 hour lunch breaks!!

You can't have the foglights retrofitted calvinmeek. It's to do with the fact that the car runs a CAN BUS interface so they need to be programmed in @ build stage. Spec them not or forever hold your peace :p

Luckily I had £7000 to put down against my nearly new 58 plate I picked up about six weeks ago so the dealer finance wasnt a problem £102pm for 3yrs.

Thanks to my employer they paid the £7000 due to the fact they tried to deafen me a few years ago. Shame I have constant whistling in my left ear for life never really get used to that. Never would have afforded the 500 otherwise so I am happy. Love the Fiat 500 with a passion I have never had for anything else material before.
