Really like the look of this little beast, and 180bhp and 6-speed flappy paddle sounds entertaining ...

It's being unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show next week.

More info here:

ETA: Can't post links yet, saw the story on Autoexpress.

I am due to order mine this :idea:week.
I think this will be another 6K:eek: at least
so I will stick std:worship: Abarth.

Be curious about the price and the gearbox. I wonder which gearbox it is?

It'll be the DDCT box from the GP/Mito. I don't think DDCT will ever make it onto standard 500's though as in the 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and SGE engined ones. Abarth should get it as an option any day now.

Price? Lots. 6k more than the standard car is so far off it's not funny. I'd say mid 20's at LEAST if it ever gets to the UK which it won't because it'll be LHD only.

6k more for
DDCT
Special wheels
Carbon fibre seats
Ferrari interior
Ferrari paint
Brembo's
Leather
Esseesse kit + 20 horsies

aint gonna happen.,

yea, was just thinking some will get confused that it is no longer a '500'

it's all a marketing exercise anyway, it's just a road car not a pukka racer like the Asseto Corsa
Hey hey don't be so cynical ;) Abarth are a competition department damnit! :p It's an Assetto Corse as well :p

:ROFLMAO:

attention mods move this thread to 'other Fiats' !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Being serious for a moment all of these special editions (Assetto Corse excluded) are funny, all they are is a way for Fiat to relieve people of even more money for a bit of extra bling. Granted this one looks really nice and has more power and a DDCT box it's not going to be worth what they're asking when you consider what you could probably do yourself :)

absolutely and it's in danger of making a mockery of the whole Abarth concept IMO

the new Mito is getting a 135 bhp nasp multiair engine, now THAT is an engine I would be interested in having in my 500 (y)

'standard' Abarth is a bit of a lame duck when you think about it in that the engine is de-tuned, all the esseesse is doing is returning/retuning the engine to standard

the development of the Abarth 500 over the next few years will be interesting, i wonder if they will offer a stripped down 'cup' version for the road without all the 'bling' - now that would be an Abarth 500 worth having:

Essesse suspension and brakes
Multiair 1.4 135 bhp nasp
Sabelt seats
Rear cage ...

you catch my drift ...

Yea, but it does look incredibly bloody nice. Agree about the price though and would expect 30k+. The asking price for the limited edition tungsten coloured 500A ( can't remember what it's called ) in Europe ranges from a huge 39,000 Euros to 59,000 Euros.

There is also going to be a Mito QV with a 170bhp engine as well :)

Quite agree with you.

My spec would be
Multiair 170bhp
Recaro's etc etc
easily bolted in cage
uprated suspension/brakes as you say
No air con
No sound deadening
Light non-blingy wheels
Option of a DDCT box

etc etc :)

Christ almighty.
It's sad really - I do like the look of these A LOT.
But then I think about what £30k really means.
And to me it means a barely used M3 CSL I'm afraid.
