General Anyone ordered recently?

Yeah i know what you mean this will be my first brand new car and i know if i get a stone chip or parking dent in the door i'm gonna flip. i'll probably end up parking miles from where i want to go just coz there are no other cars parked around.

LOL I know just what you mean! I have reassessed my usual carparks and come to the conclusion that some will be complete no-no's when my little bebay arrives!! - titchy spaces and/or oiky kids hanging around! :shakehead:

Supermarkets will only be the 24 hour variety and I'll use them after 11pm when it's really quiet.

People who've already received their brand new cars - will this paranoia last

First time on this site just to say i order my 500 on 14 July it should be made 21st to 25th September and in Bristol docks on 12 October Lets hope it all goes to plan :)

I've just ordered a 1.2 Lounge (with a few extras) tonight for my girlfriend.
Have been told 12 weeks, although if they can amend an order they placed 2 weeks ago, could be 10 weeks.

Either way, she can't wait!

I am in the proces of ordering mine:D. and they are quoting 10 to 12 weeks but its on the scrappage so providing i still get it I am not bothered.:bang:

Your may be a little quicker than some peoples MistaB as the factory shuts down in Aug

Huh? So they are pushing to get all orders out before it closes or maybe have to wait untill the new factory opens, hence taking longer

Why would you not get the scrappage? I was told that the scrappage allowance was secure once my dealer had sent my details off - regardless of how long the car takes to arrive! Is this not right????

You have 4 months from order to collect (unless its changed again) x

Yep thats right i'm just hoping the delivery situation gets better as any delay further than the 12 weeks quoted could well mean i have to find an extra £2000 to get my ordered 500 if the scrappage runs out or goes over time limit or let the order go!

Ordered my 500 yesterday and told 12 weeks...

Hmmm... its a long wait for a new car... but it'll arrive in December with a bit of luck (and its my birthday month) YAY... :D ... and just in time for Christmas hopefully

Hi

I am getting worried about this 4 months thing, I ordered my car in august and have been told a January date for delivery, should I contact the dealer to try and clear this up as I will not have an extra £2000 to pay!!!!

"Are their restrictions on the time allowed from ordering the vehicle to taking delivery?
Yes, the new vehicle has to be delivered within four months of the order being placed. This is because the scheme is time limited with a fixed budget. Dealers will let you know if the required vehicle cannot be delivered within this timeframe and discuss alternatives with you."

I'd speak to your dealer.... They may try and say it'll be fine as they can sell you the car when it arrives as a quick sale but the scheme is rumored to run out of cash in Oct... Hope that helps (and sorry if it just panics you!) :)

Might be best if they just resubmit the application in October giving it more time to go through.

according to a VW dealer.
car has to be registered within 4 month of the date applied for the scrappage.

Hi

Thanks for the advice, will get on to the dealers today. Seems strange that there is a wide range of delivery dates been talked about!
