The running lights are the lights in the rear cluster that light up red when the headlights are on. The bulb might not even be blown, it could be on the way out.

Correct me if I am wrong, the running lights must surely be the DRL's, i.e the two front daytime running lights not the two rear side lights which do not come on with the front DRL's but come on when the dipped beam headlights are switched on?

That said, from what you say the bulbs may be on the way out but are still working at the moment, so I will just keep an eye on them.

I have just noticed that I didn't actually say in my first post that neither the warning triangle or scrolling message come on when the DRL's are on, only when dipped beam [and rear side lights] are switched on.

No, they're the bulbs in the rear light clusters as I said, if they were the drl's I would have said!

And the fact that they only come on when your dipped beams are on shows that it's the rear lights and not the drl's

It is the terminology that confused me!! I thought Daytime running lights and running lights were one in the same!! I have never heard of side lights being referred to as running lights but now I know!!
