Update on this (not that there seems much interest, lol!) - a quite unexpected side effect of this project has been to increase the bass extension, quite considerably, of the Interscope system.

Without the sub woofer the mid bass output is still almost non-existant (dynamat might help) but the overall resonance of the doors, combined with the natural reinforcement of the small car interior, all works out nicely with very noticable extra range in the deepest bass.

KLF's "The White Room" for example, before the mods would be missing the lowest two tones pretty much completely (the sub is bass reflex so has practically no output below resonance).

With the door card mods in place both of these are handled surprisingly well by the door drivers, with no audible distortion, complimenting the range of the sub really well.

This might cause phase problems but none are apparent thus far. Will report back.

No phase problems to report - also correction, the track I refer to is "no more tears" on the White Room album. Jackson's "the way you make me feel" is also noticably improved. No idea on road noise improvement as I've been enjoying the Interscope too much!

Very interesting article, now all I need is to know where to get the stuff and preferably where to get a man to fit it! I did get a price a while back for the whole car but at £450 I thought it was too much.

If anyone knows where I can get the whole car done for £250 ish then let me know, I am based in Cheshire.

Hi, thanks for the comments. I used Tecsound T50 self adhesive version, and envirolay 30 felt.

Getting the whole car (dynamatted presumably) for £450 sounds like a good deal to me. You could get something like "luxury liner" installed as well while they're there, probably about £200 worth of the stuff, that should be a really big improvement.
