I'm sure they had 500's when I last looked about a year ago, now not listed, any ideas why? I hate paying full price for cars! :D

'cos apart from scrappage there is no discount available on the 500, if you want a cheaper one buy used or buy a lower spec one

cars has a 12 week waiting list so Fiat do not need to discount, supply and demand (y)

this morning at the cross roads near our house, there was a 500 at every junction!! 3 white ones and a gorgeous Orange one (that's mine by the way :D )

they are so popular and I am glad they aren't discounting, keeps the values up all round (y)

They seem to be holding up well, mine is currently worth the same as my friend's Swift Sport that he bought only 4 months before me!

I've lost £2,000 and he's lost £4,500 in almost the same time period. Ouch!

but you've spent £2500 keeping it shiny

don't know how much mine is worth, I will keep it forever so it's irrelevant for me. Really pleased I got Calypso Orange though, apart from Barry's have never seen another one (y) don't know if that helps the value or not, but it is a very rare colour :)

Excellent news, hopefully I'll not have to find too much on top of my car then for my 500c/Abarth (depending on what I decide to get)
.

The only chance of a decent discount will be when FIAT make revisions to the range and the dealers are trying to get rid of the old stock. That might happen in a couple of months when the 500 gets upgraded suspension. However, the new models will most likely go up in price by a few hundred.

I saw on another thread (sorry can't remember which) that they will be going up by £400 in next few months...

Some people think prices will go up by £750, but all models will come with ESP and new rear suspension. New model will handle like a sports car, according to honest john.

Same here, I'll hopefuly be getting a 2nd hand Abarth GP in a few years time (y)

and booklady, I've probably spent more than £2,500 in man hours and products keeping it shiny! :p

I recently bought mine from Fiat Direct (mostly HQ staff and Press & PR cars) it had 1000 miles on the clock and 2k off list price! with 2 years left on the warranty and most of the toys in the spec including leather seats.

Apparently they buy batches for photo shoots, mag reviews TV appearances, staff cars etc, but only keep them for 6-12 months.

Have to say my own personal experience with them has been very good. Car was prepared well and the staff were very helpful. The car is immaculate inside.

Oh and for me the fact I could get one within a week was the deal maker.
