Really, odd to use the pads but not the calipers, the GP bumpf specifes the Brembos but the 500 doesn't. Even the SS kit description just mentions high performance brake pads. Well should be available readily then once you get the part number.

yea the esseesse kit just changes discs and pads - normal calipers retained

You'd expect more from the esse esse kit. I know Tarox does a bolt on for the Abarth or standard with 17" wheels. It's about £1200 but its 6 pot and huge discs.

Rob,

I'm seriously considering Madran's solution. Alfa 156 calipers (for which there is a ferodo 2500 pad) and brembo slotted discs. Combine with braided hoses and decent fluid and see how it goes. Seems a cheap and easy (156 calipers are direct bolt on, no bracket fiddliness) way to better stopping power.

My other braking options are starting to look less likely. The brake man suggested maybe new ford ka diesel calipers and discs which are 285mm beasts but ford isn't exactly forthcoming with costs and order times. Anything more exotic and we're into the realms of custom brackets and calipers and that's just bonkers money.

And just got notice from Nigel that the quaife diffs are in. Mmmm, lsd goodness for the 'ring. :D

500 esseesse kit is something and nothing IMO, style over substance(n)

cool wheels are worth having but the reflashed ecu is just a cynical markerting ploy (std car being detuned),

so what you are really getting is a set of springs and the brake discs and pads

and paying ££££ for a crate and some badges(n)

Hmm. That I don't know. Can't be that hard. Ring Mick at shop4parts. He's a master at locating Fiat part numbers and if you're happy to wait a few days he can usually get you stuff cheaper than Fiat. I got my new top mounts there.
