(G) You tube video: Tech House Grey - the new Punk Grey?......

I'm really quite pleased I found this video on you tube of a 500C in what seems to be a flat grey, which must be Tech House Grey? I'm especially pleased as I was a huge fan of Punk Grey and I kicked myself for not ordering it first time around.

It may not have the brown hues of Punk Grey but it is very retro - sort-of Morris Moggie 1000 grey.

That is a lovely lovely car - thank you for posting it. I thought I had seen other pictures of Tech House Grey, though, and they seemed more metallic-y - is this a solid flat colour then?

Yeah

Tech House is a 'pastel' or a solid / flat colour. The metallic grey is Electroclash. As I said in the post I'm really pleased, especially as I hadn't actually seen Tech House anywhere, other than the unreliable configurator and the Geneva pics, which made it look blueish.

But from this video it just looks gorgeous

It's always been the one I've picked on the configurator and that just backs up how awesome it was in my head! I'd have it with an Ivory roof and a tan leather interior.

Great combo - shame my budget couldn't quite stretch to the leather interior, although I'm pretty confident the brown and ivory interior will work

I'm looking forward to showing it off at some point at a 500 meet.

That colour looks brill, really suits it! Tho I'm with Lloyd on the roof, I think I'd have the ivory, or maybe the black, I think the red one looks a bit pinky on that vid at least. Funny I don't really like the brown leather interior on the regular 500, but on the 500c, I think I would have it too.

I think the slightly lighter Electroclash grey (like on the Panda 100HP) would look better with the red roof personally. In general, i think lighter colours suit the 500. Just my opinion.

Looks lovely! I like it with the red roof but think ivory roof would also be good, especially with a brown/ivory or brown leather interior. Am sure you will be really pleased when it arrives.

Yes thanks for asking, new gearbox is much smoother now. I was going to sell the Abarth as i'd fallen badly out of love with it. But after driving the 1.4 pop for a month, and getting back in the Abarth, it's almost instant how quickly you can learn to love the car again! Won't be on ebay for a while yet (unless it goes wrong again!) Had so many nice looks and comments since it's been back

I have just ordered tech house grey with the red roof, love the colour but really worried about downsizing to a 1.2 - this is not as slow or uncomfortable as reviews say surely!??

It's all relative. If you're downsizing from a Veyron then yes it is slow, if you're coming across from a 1.2 Micra then it's fine

I did almost 20,000 miles, in 17 months, driving a 1.2 Lounge, including
many trips on the M5, to Bristol & back. I thought it performed really well and
never found it to be uncomfortable. I only really noticed the lack of power
when going up steep hills, but it's absolutely fine for driving on the UK's
congested roads !!

On a separate note, I owned a Mini Cooper S before, so this had plenty
of poke but turned out to be a big disappointment, so I wouldn't worry too
much about downsizing.
