Just been told by the dealer that they can't fit the interscope system into a Start&Stop car!!! :(

Is this true? I was positive it was an available option in the price list and brochure!

It's not a deal breaker, but it'll be a real shame if I can't get it!

Well, apparantly the engine of the Start&Stop means the interscope system can't fit in the bonnet :(

Looks like I'll be doing without.

That's poor.

Isn't it just!!! :(:(:(:(

Having heard the difference, I really appreciated the interscope system. But I suppose the smaller system will save me a couple of quids fuel over the next 10 years.

And I could always install something myself, right? And are there any fiat engineers etc who frequent this site who could explain exactly why the system doesn't fit?

Okay... so... new dilemma...

Start&Stop without interscope... or... 1.2 with???

I really liked the sound system... is the additional fuel efficiency all that for the start stop?

I'll bet within a week of ownership you would adjust your driving style to take advantage of it.
Agreed.

My wife sometimes holds cars on slight inclines with the clutch! I tell her not to but well you know...... It's not something that happens often, maybe once a month or so but it's still not the way it's meant to be done and it shortens the life of the clutch.

You have to look at the spec of the start stop and decide how much of that you would have to add to say a sport spec - for instance split rear seats, chrome kit.

When i eventually sort myself out with an order, i'll probably start with the start stop as i need the headroom of a non glass roof car and the split rear seats are essential for me.

That's exactly what I'm doing now. I am really disappointed Fiat can't get there house in order! After checking the current Fiat Range Price List it shows the Interscope system as an option on the Start&Stop.

And I bet if you buy the S&S, you will regret not having the intercope more than you regret not having the S&S if you buy the 1.2. Kinda.

I am starting to think the same thing. The start&stop was a good choice for us because of the extras you got with it and the money saved on fuel (not much, but every little helps!) and it gave my fiancee the seats she wanted.

More configuring!!! And more talks with Fiat customer service. (y)

Yes. She will turn it off.

Depends how much you value your music being 100% perfect. As long as it's loud enough and not horrible the normal stereo will be fine for me :D

Okay,

So... The start&stop (if it could have interscope) would have been £11,085. The Sport, brought up to the same spec (but including the sport extras like tints and sport dash etc) comes to £11,130. The Pop, brought up to the same spec (with no extras) comes to £11,115.

So the sport looks best value for money!

Isn't it wierd having a 1.2 Sport? :p

It's just a spec level :)

The suspension and engine are the same acros the range except of course for S&S. I would have got a Sport except the wife wanted the glass roof so the lounge worked out cheapest.

In regard to the OP, is it worth trying a telephone order with another dealer to see if they can order it with both for you?

Could just be the dealership your with making a mistake, possibly having been missinformed

Done that, called another dealer, the fiat customer service line - twice and the dealership again... Apparantly it defiantely can't be done because it conflicts with the start stop system.

Now looking at the sport, and I've noticed there are some cosmetic differences between it and the lounge, like the dash and tints. Going to look through the members photos to see if I can get a detailed image of the dash... can anyone tell me what it's like looking out of the tints, especially at night?

All of those are more than a 1.4 Sport/Lounge with 16" wheels !

You must be adding some spec as my stop/start spec of admittedly cheapskate BNWhite with 16s and rub strips comes in under £10k.
