Hi Everyone ...

Im waiting on my new 500 sport and have heard the lights fitted as standard are not all that. Does anyone know what the best option to replace them with is?

Thank you!

I guess I like the look of the more whiter lights rather than the yellowy ones. I want my new car to look new in every way and I think the yellowy lights look quite dated. Is that a bit fussy?

I like the bright white ones ... do you know what would do the trick?

I changed mine for Osram Nightbreakers although, in all honesty I don't think the original lights were poor. It was mainly just to ensure that they were performing at their best but the whiter light was also a contributing factor.

If you do make a change then you will also need to change the DRL bulbs as well as they look decidedly yellow against the new ones. I also changed my indicator bulbs as well to the chrome look ones as then you don't see the orange bulbs in the headlight units.

Must remember to change them all back when I get my next 500 though.

Another thumbs up for the Osram NBs here, very clear optics and help pick out the inumerable pot holes I face really well. Not bothered with the indicators but I have changed my DRLs to the PIAAs just to make old grumpy buggers think I have my fog lights on even more.

Thank you ... ok so (please please forgive me here!) ... I need 3 sets of bulbs plus (if I wanted) a set of indicator bulbs?

Any chance you could let me know exactly make/type etc that I would need?

Dipped Beam: H7
Main Beam: H1
DRLs: ABD 7443 21/5 - These are a bit odd as they are normally rear bulbs, only ones I found were from a company call PIAA Link i used: http://www.priracing.com/product.ph...ite-t20-double-580-large-capless-27-8w--pair- )

I went for Osram Nightbreakers but Phillips do good ones (+80% iirc) and there are a few others out there just make sure they conform to the proper wattage (12v 55W), anything higher will just melt your lights after a while and will not be covered by warranty

Thank you for that!

Ive been trying to look back at revious threads so have got the piaas ... they seem to be the only option for the DRLs.

As for the other 2 philips extremes (?) seem to be popular ... between the philips and the osrams which are the least blue? I prefer bright white to white blue.

haha ... I know I know! But it is a modern twist of a retro car ... everything else has been updated so why not the lights?
