General How much is the Blue and Me Map port?

I've never understood why Fiat have made this a no-cost option. They may as well just include it as part of the Blue&Me.

Every 500 I have ordered since it was released has had this (I had a pretty good idea none of our salesmen would ever mention it) and so far not one customer has complained about it being there.

I'm a little annoyed now. I don't know if the salesman has added it to my car as I haven't yet got it but it would have taken 2 seconds for him to mention it and I could have just said yes. Sods law says it hasn't been added to my car and if I want to add sat nav I'll have to have one on the windscreen.

I assume that the Sat Nav unit is a seperate price, but how much does it cost to have the dashboard port installed as a factory option? I can't seem to find it anywhere on any price lists.

Thanks

Steve
Risking sounding totally dumb... dashboard port? (is this like a cig lighter to run it with?)

Cheers

No its a dedicated port on top of the dashboard that the sat nav plugs into, saves having to have it stuck to the windscreen on a sucker!

You can get a sat nav unit for under £50 now online, whereas the B&M one is about £199 if I'm right? Lots of money to not have a beerglass mark left on your windscreen!

So is this 'port' just a place for a specific sat nav to sit? I suppose it has a power connection or usb socket? And surely you can use other satnav with it, do you not just need a compatible stand?

I think its just meant for the actual Fiat Blue and Me sat nav unit. I think it communicates with the car via bluetooth so it may just be a powerpoint and a support socket for the actual unit. I'm sure that someone with more knowledge will clarify this, but I do think I'm right in saying you cant plug anything else into it. So if you're not getting B&M sat nav, seems a bit pointless.
