I ordered my 500C as soon as it was possible and was told Launch would be 9th of June. Last week Fiat told me probably end of June, so I got on to the dealer who contacted Logistics who said Most probably the END of JULY beginning of AUGUST !!!! Has anyone heard anything.

So are they able to order? My parents want one of these, but were holding off until they appeared at the dealer.

Are they taking deposits?

Surely you dont expect them to launch it during our summer, I bet it arrives September

Realistically I expect they will be running flat out to make Left Hand Drive ones for the continent and we'll be able to order RHD ones after the initial demand has passed and they can be added into production.

I ordered mine about 4 weeks ago - we could change spec up to two weeks after ordering but have been told it will be towards the end of September before it arrives
They didn't take a deposit but all the details of my old car for scrappage.

As I will be placing an order on the 500C when I've sold the 500 Hatch next week I asked the dealer (whilst ordering my partners Grande Punto) when the 'delayed' launch will happen?

General consensus, from Fiat comunicae, is end of June.

The UK is the prime launch platform for the Fiat 500C (we buy more convertibles than anyone in Europe). Europe gets it in 2010.
The 500C has been available to order for nearly three months now, if you wait till its in the showroom you will not get one till 2010. I think the order books are nearly full.

Thank you for contacting the Fiat Information Centre.

It is fantastic you have ordered the great Fiat 500c.

We are sorry to confirm that the production date has been delayed, we
understand this is a frustrating situation.

The Fiat 500C will be launched in the UK in the 1st week of July, at
present Fiat has still not confirmed a precise date. As soon as the
information is released all our Fiat dealers will also be updated.

So if the production date is delayed until the first week of July then actual delivery won't be until September / October time, as already mentioned in this thread.

That's slightly disappointing, especially as if I recall most of Summer is over when the leaves start to fall from the trees?! :bang:

I was told by my dealer that the obligatory 12 weeks applied to the 'C', however if a none-to altered model was ordered, i.e. a standard Pop, Lounge in Ambient white then they could probably be sourced quicker. Unlikey if production hasn't even started yet and all the promo cars have been LHD.

Oh well, I'm sure the wait will be worth it, but you've got to love the Italian logic of a 12 week wait and delayed production that verges on early to mid summer

if you want a car quick buying one that isnt even released yet isnt a good start.
I had to wait 5months from Dec 2006 for my 500 to be delivered and as i had crashed my own car I was without wheels ! By the time I had gotten it i was seriously questioning if I needed it - how can i have been so foolish

I ordered my 500c second week of April with expected delivery end of June. Phoned 4 weeks ago and told still should be arriving end of June or early July at latest. Phoned today and told that my car is not likely to even go into production until end of July so goodness knows when that means I will get delivery of it - winter probably

My dealer said that Fiat have a delay in production but didn't know why and could not give me much further information at all which was frustrating. They are expecting their demonstrator early July apparantly. Am very fed up and would consider cancelling the whole thing except I feel this would be cutting off my nose to spite my face.

Well, the Alfa Mito is to get the new Multiair engines in September: official. But that's probably not what you want to know

Fantastic. That news has gone some way to lessening my disappointment...

I just saw one on my way home today down the M4.
Personally i think it looks rubbish.
Also it was in that peralescent paint which did not help much.
And to make matters worse the guy driving did seriously not look the part.. Weirdo

Are you referring to the 500C or a Mito?

Well got a call from the dealer today....it should be here mid August!!!!
Not bad as I ordered it in the last week of MARCH first week of APRIL!!!!
but hay some of the ones ordered after me wont be getting theirs the dealer didn't get ALL the cars he ordered, I would be furious if that was me.

Has been a long wait hasn't it? Good news it is finally on its way for you. Ordered mine not long after you so hope I get lucky too. Has been an unbearable wait.

What spec/colour etc are you getting?

I see that in the latest DVLA sealed bid auction here that RDL 500C starts at £300. (Bid 723)

I ordered a 1.2 Lounge in Pasodoble Red with black roof (yeah safe but true to the old 500)red Leather /cream Ambience Standard 15" Alloys Side rubbing strip with logo. So nothing outrageous. Would have loved the 1.4 but live on a small island 3.5 miles by 1.5 miles so not really needed. What did you order?
P.S. Getting excited already my God it has been a long wait, my husband ordered it for my Birthday in June.
