Posts: 11 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | ![]() Hi all, Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I'm not one to post a lot - I'm more of a lurker for info and advice on my 500! So its a 1.4 sport model and it's in for the 1st service today, just over 12 months old and 10,300 miles on the clock. I've been quoted £220 all in from the Fiat dealer I brought it from (oil and filter change, pollen filter, air con, all checks and spark plugs) They also need to change the number plate bulb which has gone. From an old thread £220 seems high but considering it's a Fiat garage it's probably around the standard cost. They just called and said the software upgrade has caused the control unit to malfunction and so I'll need a new one which they are going to fit tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? (Other things to mention is that my milage number has flashed before in the past a couple of times.) Thanks in advance for any help. seems to be a lot of 500 drivers out there now, it's such a great little car! ![]()

On the control unit - the dealer said I was lucky to bring it into them because of the ECU failure. Apparently an independent wouldn't have had the Fiat software update that needed to be done. All a bit confusing.... just pleased to have it back and working!! plus they gave it a full valet so it was nice and shiny again ![]()

As an aside, we also have a 90 bhp Grande Punto diesel and this is due the 36k service and Northwich have quoted £415! They say it says that the service is quoted at 3 hours labour, so not sure what we will do with that one.

Labour was £85 and rest for parts and VAT. So I can't complain much. By the way, the flashing mileage issue. They replaced a pipe under warranty. The dealer is Grays of Warwick.
