Have always driven an auto (since my 1st car which was a Beetle, and so not the easiest manual to handle!). Currently drive an auto Figaro and was keen on a Dualogic. The colours I wanted are no longer available  and so am considering a manual.
Customers with experience of Dualogic - would you receommend or otherwise?
Thanks :)

I have the Dualogic. I drove a manual eons ago and hated it, which put me off driving for 25 years. I re-learnt in an automatic this year andno whave the dualogic, but it is different to a fully automatic car. The gearbox is actually a "proper" gearbox which can be used in auto or semi manual mode, just no clutch pedal. There are 2 possible downsides to this. First you dont get the "creep" you get with an auto, which is actually quite handy when manouvering as you dont need to use the handbrake much. Also hill starts ditto. With the dualogic you have to use the handbrake, as in a manual, but you loose the benefit of clutch control because you dont have a clutch pedal. So i would think if you had only ever driven a fully automatic car, the dualogic would be a bit of a challenge.
Having said this, I am getting used to it. Its a bit slow to change down on a hill - you really have to welly the accellerator to get any speed up. But if you've driven a manual land cant be arsed with it (like me!) then its fine.
I did read that its a bit more fuel hungry. Not sure if this is rue as I have nithing to compare

I'd say no. Almost every time I've seen the word dualogic its been in the same sentence as the word problem, rubbish, broken, or delay.

That can't be simply co-incidence.

I've posted about my Panda dualogic several times - 30k miles, no trouble at all, lovely to drive and much better than normal automatic as the pattern I tend to adopt is sometimes interfering and sometimes leaving it be. You can drive it with an auto licence - the test is - does it have a clutch pedal.

Yes I learnt in a manual and passed in 1981. I did a bit of driving initially but then I didnt drive for 25 years!! So I had refresher lessons in an automatic and bought the dualogic 500. I havent had any problems with it.

but you dont often get people start a thread just to say, they dont have a problem:p

A fair point. But magazine reviewers will tell you what they think. As will tv shows. As will interview with Italian touring car drivers who have dualogic at home and consider it to be rubbish. ;)

I'm so sorry Julie, (she says most humbly) to take the Micky, but are you the Policeman from Allo Allo ?

And it'll serve me right for making a typo too!
