Fiat does have some good designers. Their cars tend to last well. The original Punto is still fresh; the Multipla is knocked but it still stands up as a modern car, and the small models continue to look smart and have great detailing. I can't think of another manufacturer with such lasting designs.

I was looking at the new Golf the other day, and it reminded me in its proportions, angularity and detail architecture, particularly towards the rear, of the old Stilo. Put the Golf nose on a Stilo in fact and you have the latest VW.

Well done Fiat.

Yaaaay, go lil' Fiat! :D
They're right when they say 'the new 500 “pushes the emotional hot buttons of several generations...."', I was parking mine on my high street the other day and it still managed to draw the attention of everyone waiting at the bus stop nearby!

Are you sure it wasn't you they were all admiring Lloyd! :D

I have no idea, could have been, they did seem to watch me go to the bank (I thought they were going to rob me) but they were mostly pensioners! So not my type really!

I did get a nice young girl watch me go by at the bus stop in the next town along from here though, was going to stop and give her a lift but she could have been a schoolgirl!

Your so right about the new Golf looking like a Stilo, and when it was on show in Paris it was being ignored like the Stilo too:)
Most of Fiats small cars always look great, even now the Cinquecento looks funky but cant agree re the Punto, Ive never liked any of them tbh. I reckon the 500 will look good for ever tbh, especially the earlier ones in the cooler colours.

Ironic when you think Fiat tried to emulate the germans when making the stilo!

I always loved the look of the mk2 punto, we loved ours, think it still looks good, specially in broom yellow. not the horrid facelifted one tho, manky lights or what?!

I still really love the shape of the (Giugiaro designed) MK1 Punto, still looks modern now, esp the Broom Yellow GT/Sporting.

Even the cinq looks modern still, that's the best thing about fiats - the lasting designs. MK1 Punto's still look new as does the MK2 Punto which was incorporated into the range ten years ago, quite hard to believe really, mine still looks new despite being nine years old!!!

I owned Golfs in the past and I was unable to buy the new one because of the price. Moreover I needed an economic and small car. While I still felt in more secure in my Golf I would not replace my lovely Dondolo anymore.

Maybe Calypso Orange? (y)
