Hi all!
the wife is getting her Bossa white 1.2 Lounge on tuesday and 'we' have already purchased some 17" wheels and tyres for the little girl which the dealer is fitting ready for us to collect.
One of the next tasks on the car is dropping it but not sure which springs?
My local tuning place recommend Eibach but can get Apex for nearly half the price, obviously cost is an issue but not so much if springs are pants???
Who has what fitted and with what size wheel coz thats another query, everyone is telling me that it will drop no prob on 17"s???
Help!?

PS. will be posting pics once got it

17"s will fill the arches so you might not want to lower it at all, but out of APEX and Eibach i would choose Eibach (y)
has been done on 17"s, lots of arch clearance

mine is dropped 60mm

Thanks, was only looking for something subtle, 30mm will do because of the 17"s but the difference in price of those springs is large chunk of fitting cost.
seen the thread for the apex springs from carparformance.uk and had already seen them from searching the net.
we'll see what it looks like on tuesday when pick it up. think will look good but lower is always better. in a non-standard, love to tinker kind of way:p

suspension is SPAX RSX kit

cool:cool:
i'm sure 30mm'ish springs will be no prob at all(y)
can't wait, wife has big plans for it. think all my previous is starting to rub off:yum: but if she says she wants to 'pimp it' once more i'm washing my hands of it:cry:

I have a 1.2 sport lowered 40mm on eibach springs and have 205/45/17 wheels on looks great, but thinking of going lower soon,
but the 40mm made massive difference i think, to the looks.
Ill post a pic later on tonight,:)

p/s mark's car ( pic above has 16" wheels ). when i lower mine in the next few month's i will be going with the apex one's as the eibach ones are in my eyes too expensive ! the only difference is apex don't have the well known brand name here in the uk but they do have a very good reputation in europe plus they carry a 5 year unlimited milage warranty, don't let them being cheaper fool you into thinking there not as good

Has anyone tried the H&R Springs (not cheap - maybe £150-170!) that I think lower 35mm at rear and 20mm at front which makes the stance of the car pretty much level rather than slightly higher at rear.

Haven't tried H&R but KW springs aren't the best solution. Plenty of fun from a track perspective but a bit crashy on normal roads.

Any pics yet?
Want to see how the ET 40 wheels looks like on the car!

I have a new 1.2 500 on order and would like to get it lowered from day one. Nothing drastic, probably using Apex springs as on Marks car. The dealer is prepared to fit them for me at a very reasonable £60, but made a big point of telling me that it would more than likely invalidate any warranty claims made in connection with steering and suspension. I had hoped that if they had done the fitting , that they would then take a more sympathetic view to any possible claims ( knowing that in reality such a small amount of lowering should have no adverse effect on anything )
Does anyone know if a dealer is obliged when making a warranty claim to Fiat to point out whether or not any mods have been made. My concern is that some problem may arise and they just say we told you so. Would I be better off waiting a month or so just to make sure everything is OK first.
