I thought the price was generally agreed at 2.5K and was decided on taking into account regional labour cost variations.

Simple answer would be to drive to another dealer to have it fitted.

I see that they will only fit the kit if you bought the car from them. It must be nice to be so busy/choosy in the current climate. :(

Let's hope that all the dealers don't adopt the same attitude otherwise, as already stated it will be similar situation as to having fixed servicing costs that vary from dealer to dealer.

Speaking from bitter experience of fitting Prodrive kits to Subarus, the manufacturers don't have a clue how long it takes to fit a kit, and their labour times that are reflected in the price are unattainable.

Don't forget that these kits are being fitted to either new or quite new vehicles, no rusty bolts or similar and apart from the ECU everything is fairly easy to change. This is quite within the expertise level of the enthusiast so surely ICME times (do they still use this method?) should be easily attainable by a skilled tech in a fully equipped workshop.

If its anything like Subaru they use 'made up times'. I don't know the details of the SS kit, but the PPP kit involved changing the in tank fuel pump, the back box and the ECU.

Changing the ECI is easy, once you get to it.

 Nothing quite so involved on the Abarth. If I can remember properly the kit consists of 17" wheels and tyres, different discs and pads, new dampers and springs + the 25BHP ECU mod.
Sorry if I have missed anything out but I only had a quick look in the box in the dealer's showroom. Plenty of people with in depth knowledge can fill in the missing bits.

Cheers
