Well i ordered a new 500 and its due to arrive mid March.
its the first one i've had and looking forward to picking it up!:)
My car now is a BMW Mini and is the only car i've driven that put a smile on my face every time i got in it so i'm hoping the 500 does the same thing.
its a lounge and when i went into the showroom i was having black and nothing would change my mind but i wanted to see the blue (cha cha blue i think its called but could be mistaken ) to make sure i picked the right colour but then i spotted a ye ye green in their workshop and the rest is history!
So now i have a Ye Ye Green lounge comming with black check seats chrome mirrors and side rubber.
Just goes to show every time you think you got what you want something better comes along lol
the dealer gave me £200 off the price and threw in black mats with cream piping and a rubber boot mat , so pleased about the deal and i hope i get as much enjoyment and care free motoring as i did with my last two mini's (fingers crossed ) by the way great forum.:slayer:

what engine did you go for ?

welcome to the forum
i had to go for the 1.2 as it had already been ordered but original buyer pulled out so i got it but i think i was lucky to ge ye Ye green as the colour is now discontinued i think and £35 road tax aint bad either:yum:
Thx for welcome

Welcome to the Forums (y).

As another ex-MINI owner I'm sure you'll love your 500 :D.
They have great character, plus a bit more room than a MINI. Also, you don't see as many on the road so sitll a bit of an event when you see a fellow 500.

It's the most fun I've had with a car since I had my first MINI One (rate it above my r56 MINI Cooper as it feels simpler and keeps you more in touch with the road if you know what I mean).

Its good to see some ex mini owners enthusing about the 500... the Fiat ownership experience is quite unique shall we say and previous BMW owners might not appreciate it!

Unique = characterful :p

The only downside I've seen so far is the dealers around Glasgow :bang:

Thanks for the welcome and advice guys and hi to the ex-minier's.
Still finding the thought of getting rid of my Mini a bit hard but once the 500 arrives i am sure i will forget all about it.
I find the 500 owners feelings towards Mini's are the same as the Mini owners are to the 500's which is quite funny and i think both sets of owners should have a chance to drive either model and would probably find out they are both fun to drive.
Looking forward to the fun of a 500

I have sat in a few minis while spending an hour browsing at car supermarkets and always found them cramped feeling, a little low down and also a bit oppressive in an overstyled sort of a way. Can't comment on the driving experience as Ive never driven one! First discovered in the 500 when looking for a replacement for my doblo van which I had sold... as soon as I sat in it, it just felt right! Ended up buying a panda 4x4, which I liked the idea of but disliked the ownership of! So when I could afford to get rid, the 500 was the only way to go for me! Someone did say to me it was a hairdresser's car tho the other day, I dont know how people get these ideas! How many people on here who own one are hairdressers? I feel a poll coming on! :ROFLMAO:

Welcome! the ye ye green looks great in the flesh and a little suggestion... a white sport stripe sets it off a treat! the dealers can put you one on! :D
you saw the pop in the dealers didn't you :) i must have sat in it like 10 time's if it was a sport i would have bought it to go with the white one,
i think a poll is a good idea for job's people do and you can lose you'r poll virginity.

Yes I did! looked great didnt it? If itd been a lounge I would have been tempted to buy it! Was in there for ages too.

Well i got a phone call from Fiat Today and they said the car was arriving tomorrow! and i can pick it up next Tuesday:)
So now im getting excited and cant wait.

I had one of these has a courtesy car, i did 200 miles in it, it was horrible, why no power, very cheep interior plastic, not wide enough inside, too noisy, it reminded me of an old metro, and the price is too expensive, and there is no boot space, I honestly dont know why people buy these(n)

Reminded you of an old metro? I can remember my Gran's Metro, but it certainly wasn't anything like a 500. A bit of an over exageration I think? :)
