You may be able to get a lead set that plugs into the back of your H/U to allow the steering wheel controls to work, but you will need a compatable h/U.
B&M will probably not work however.

FWIW the aftermarket units I've seen in the 500 completely spoil the dash IMO
I have to agree, they all seem to have bright fluorescent displays that completely ruins the effect. That said, if you are a true audiophile then looks will always come second to performance.
This has always served me well in my relationships with women too. :devil:

Obviously the original head unit looks better, but that looks alright actually.

Steering wheel controls work to an extent. B&M doesn't at all.
The sound is sooooo much better with aftermarket stuff.
Ok, i spent a lot of money on hardware as on installation (more than 2.000€), but hey, planing on having the car for a decade, so....
But even with "entry models" you should get way beyond original system.....
p.s. just loving the Dire Straits......they sound very SQ!
