Hi there,
Follow Martins money tips and change insurance every year because if you stay with the same insurer every year - quotes go up and not down so its best to shop around before quote is due for renewal.

Not sorted my insurance claim out still, I thought I had but car not ready on the promised 1st March so am going to have to change it all again - so will everyone know what my new quote is.

23 year old male
Clean license, held since 19-08-03
1.2 Lounge
Garaged overnight
1 year NCB
£540 per year
Churchill

They've promised me that my quote won't go up next year if my NCB remains intact. :)

1.4 Lounge

34 year old male

First car, 0 no claims bonus

£680 - swiftcover

My insurance renewal comes next month so I'll be curious to see what it is. I did a brief get a quote thing from gocompare and the best came back at £480. So not so bad.

Cheers for all the replies.

Some very varied results. I guess I should moan with sub £300 but will check with Direct line if I add the MRS as a named driver.

Amazing how some can pay £120 odd though but there are soooooo many variables to this insurance game i guess.

Thanks again!
:):);)

Our 500 is driven by my wife because i'm just a learner :(. She is a 21 year old student with only 1 years NCB, reasonable area but parked on the road. Our insurance (with me as a named driver in all my provisional licence greatness) is.... £680 a year. Only this cheap though because I work for a decent insurance company.

Norwich Union and Endsleigh wanted £1400 without me on and Direct Line were really rude (and pricey!)

:D

hey,
1.2 Sport
20, female
2 years driving (no ncb as only been a named driver)
Mum as Named Driver (actually made the quote cheaper!)
Including buisness insurance.
Best (so far) £560 (y)

*With Admiral

Mine is up for renewal mid March, my existing insurer (Swinton) has quoted me £175, but when I did a quote through compare the meerkat.com, Swinton were lowest but with £130. So I must ring them! May try the one on here too see if they can beat £130.

This is for:

45 yr old and spouse
9yrs NC
1.2 lounge

I may have crinkly hairs growing out my ears and nostrils but at least my insurance is cheap!

Oh and I forgot to say, did an online quote with directline, but they came out at £226!

Still I suppose they gotta pay for paul merton and stephen fry. "We can give you savings". No, you can't!

Just gotta hope that their "Mr Happy" doesn't try to give away free glass cover or that they decide to change their name to "Avoida" otherwise you won't get TPF&T for that price. (n)

third party fire & theaft is usually more expensive than fully comp as going fully comp you are seen as "responsible". also some finance agreaments say you must have fully comp insureance otherwise you'r breaking the finance t&c's
