The stance of the car on 16s is so much better when lowered, and I love the shine on the night shot! How does it drive? My sisters is great but very bouncy coming off speedbumps, im thinking new springs could sort that out.

The spring rates feel better matched front to rear.

There is no "pogoing" when negotiating speed bumps at all, especially noticable on the rear end. The ride is not overly hard either, feeling perfect in my eyes.

As for the cornering:eek: what an improvement, the understeer is much reduced too.

All in I'm over the moon for a 2hr job.

Sweet!

It's not dirty enough for my tastes though. It doesn't look like you've been out thrashing it :D

I command you to go find a twisty road with some puddles and mud and have fun.

looks smooth I think my first mod will be lowering when i get my 500 do you mind me asking how much they charged for fitting or did u do it yourself? big job?

I appreciate the idea of lowering the car, and I'm sure it will solve many of the curiosities of the cars bounciness etc... However, I must say that I think the 'traditional' stance, or the stock stance really suits the car, not to say I don't like it lowered, I think it would suit having the normal sport rear spoiler when it is lower too.

All in all, I would appreciate a little less bounciness, etc etc, but I feel the balance of proportions is fairly perfect stock. Nice work though, and I'm sure the performance is much appreciated when it comes to the corners ;-)

Charlie -

yea took a few snaps at Shell garage, will upload them tomorrow

feels and looks good, but initial accelleration is dulled - they are heavy gravel rally wheels and have lots of inertia - car rides well

will be fitting the Grande Punto ones in a few weeks time i think and keep the Compos for the track

i think 16"s might be the sweet spot though:cool:
all interesting experiments(y)

You might have a problem with the GP wheels as the PCD isn't the same... Saying that Nuova500shop got them fitted alright.

Looking forward to your photos with the Compomotives on! :yum:

And what is it with people taking photos at Shell garages? :D

cheers for honest feedback I had an early boxster s many years ago a sweet handling car put 19" on and totally ruined every good bit about it, handling, ride feedback etc could not get them off soon enough bigger is not always better, lowering, strut brace and 16's seem promising on the 500

yea needs wobblies to adapt the pcd and eibach pro spacers to adapt the centre bore dia from the gp/vauxhall fitment

i always take pics at shell garages at night after doing late night mods - its obligatory:cool:

Wow, looks really nice! I really wanna get mine done now. :D
I have no mechanical know-how. You say it takes around 2 hours, the parts are about £75. So if I took my car to my local garage, will they actually fit them for me? And for how much?
P.S. Thanks once again.

I was quoted £80+ VAT by the supplying garage. I could do it for £50 cash in hand.;)
