Just to say a wee good-bye to all those members who made my time here, albeit very brief, very informative and pleasurable.

I had every intention to buy the new 500 Abarth, but like so many others who have previously discovered "Arnold" has really got to get his act together. I never received a single call and when I eventually revisited the branch the salesman I had been dealing with had left the company. I was promised his replacement, who wasn't available at that moment would call - and I sit here still waiting two months on.

As a result I went out and looked at my second choice, the VW Golf Mk VI GT Tdi. An independant dealer gave me an exceptional deal on one and I'd be stupid not to jump at it, which I have.

So thanks to all here for your experiences, advice and company - its been a pleasure. (y)

Bye  have a good time with the vw sort of know how you feel we had a prob with our car which the salesman was sorting and when we returned 6 weeks later after no correspondence from him we found out he'd left and no one knew about us or our problem, as a parting gift to "arnold" i'd send you'r experience in an e-mail to fiat customer services :yum:

its always a shame when the weakest link in fiat, their dealers, receive another confirmation of what we all know :(

it would be the biggest single thing would put me off buying another. ive been there with the lack of communication, misinformation etc.

enjoy your vw, at least you've got something real solid and high quality to enjoy :)

Thanks guys - and yes, I've made comment about the poor service.

I'll still visit every now and again as I still think the Abarth is a cracking wee car, maybe in three years time when its time to change again I'll have more luck. :)

WeegieBob. ;)

The thing is they don't need to chase sales, they're over subscribed anyway, but VW do since there are fields full of them. That said, the VW is probably a much better car based on my experience with VAG vs Fiat.
