I've just looked at the thread with the pictures of the red abarth whats the deal with the boost gauge location? I'm sure the early pictures showed it on the left of the speedo. Also on the dash above the 500 logo should there not be a badge with the words powered by abarth?

or have I made all this up??

I don't think I could deal with the gauge being in that location it seems like an after thought and very much in line of sight. Good excuse to go test drive one to see if it really would annoy me. :D

Not sure if this is the reason or not but here goes.....

The instrument binnacle on Fiat 500's has the three buttons for the trip computer & headlight adjustment on the RHS of the speedo on BOTH left and right hand drive cars.

If we were to have a mirror image of the LHD Abarth the Turbo gauge would be over he top of these buttons meaning that the whole binnacle would have to be redesigned with buttons & associated wiring on the left of the binnacle.

Given that we only count for a couple of thousand A500's per annum, at most, perhaps it is too costly to make this change - hence the cheaper option of plonking it on top?

People who own the LHD Abarth have mentioned that you can't see the gauge too well has it's hidden behind the extra chunky steering wheel, so I suppose it's a blessing in disguise that ours is plonked somewhere we can see it!!

The 'Powered by Abarth' badge only appears on the opening edition models, but I'm sure you'd be able to order one from FIAT if you found the part no.
