Hi
Just thought I'd post a quick hello in here having just ordered a 1.2 Lounge in Bossa Nova White this morning. And also a big shout to Parkside Fiat in Hounslow who were fantastic throughout the process (although it only took about 8 minutes:)). I was quite surprised that I actually managed to get some sort of discount too - standard car + side rubbing strips for £9290. The saving will pay for some mats I suppose.

I could have had the car on Thursday but I've chosen to wait until 1st March for obvious reasons - and it also gives me time to err....break it to the wife;)

Wish me luck!

Cheers
Sean

Crikey I wish I had your bottle.

I bottled out of the "I have put a deposit down on a Abarth 500" on Saturday after only playing it for 10 seconds or so....

Hi Sean

Good luck with the car ... and the wife

I admire your patience. I got my 500 a couple of weeks ago. Was going to be mature and wait until March (for obvious reasons) and then the dealer had a cancellation of my exact car and I could have it in under a week....so I did.

I have leased it so, in the end, it isn't really THAT important when the start or finish is I suppose.

Enjoy you fantastic car!

Alan

Hi there,
I am new on here and had some really good advice, one of which was a decision to order either bossa nova or cha cha cha 1.2 lounge with ivory- the votes were counted and I ordered cha cha cha, I have ordered mine at the end of January got a fab deal with lots of things thrown in and a good price for my car - and I am now counting the days! Only 17 days to go!!
Enjoy your new car - mine wasn't an impulse buy however, I pestered my husband and as soon as he saw it on the test drive he knew why I loved it!

still very important for re-sale value - especially when it was only a case of a month or so.

ah well, least you got it early. jam today instead of jam tomorrow i suppose!!

Thanks for the welcome folks. A few minutes after my post I got a call from the wife saying she had just got promoted [i[and[/i] is getting a bonus. Well, I said, I know just the present for you then...

And so, yes, it is now her car. BUT I leave the house at 6am while she's still asleep...

Hi, I am from Budapest,Hungary and I am in process to replace my 10 year's old Golf IV with a Fiat 500 1.2 8V Lounge, Calypso Orange, ivory interior, electirc roof, etc... to be taken next weekend. I am a little bit worried that I bought it without a test drive just it was a love at first site and there is a sale here in Hungary of the stock cars. Do you think that it will not be a great shock to drive a 1.2 car after a 1.6? I will use it mainly in the city and alone....

I think you'll love it!

Its a quick little car. Don't be dissapointed at first because after about 2000 miles it loosens up. It will seem quicker when more miles are put on the clock:)

You are getting a lovely spec of car:)

A very warm welcome to Fiat Forum too:)

Si

Thank you very much for your warm welcome. I am a dinamic driver and was really nice to read your words about its capability. I will put a pict when I take it over next week :)

Chill. I have a Sport 1.2 and I've had it 8 months now. I LOVE it to bits!

It is quick enough, just put on a few thousand km on and it'll beat the Golf for dead. Honest. The only slow thing is it going to the filling station as it's so economical.

Enjoy it when you get the 500!

I am a dinamic driver

Not sure how dynamic a 1.6 Golf is but I took my Alfa GTV out for a spin last night - a sort of final farewell as the insurance gets swapped onto the 500 at the weekend. I'd forgotten how fast it is:D - I shall definitely miss the power.

Anyway, I might be getting the 500 delivered on Saturday. I will have to resist the temptation to drive i.......until midnight(y)

May I have a question? How do you find the headlight's performance? I read in a test that those are hopeless. Is that true?

I am gonna take my new car from a salon at our famous lake Balaton. I am planning a nice panomaric ride home beside the lake. I am going with my brother and put some nice Italian music on a pendrive like Azzuro by Celentano, Guarda come Dondolo by Edoardo Vilanello, Lasciatemi by Toto Cotugno, Nel blu di pinto di blu by Domenigo Modugno , etc.....

Am I crazy? (y)

Sounds like the perfect first drive in the 500, I trust that you are doing it in daylight to fully appreciate the beautiful Hungarian scenery and that the mention of headlight performance was a separate topic.

With regards headlight performance I didn't think that the standard bulbs were below par but as with any enhancement you can appreciate the difference. Unless you drive a lot at night I don't think that you will be disappointed with the standard setup but if you do decide to change the bulbs I can recommend the Osram Nightbreakers.

Welcome to the forum and we all kook forward to seeing any photos of your car especially if you take some with the Lake in the background. (y)

Dear All, yesterday I took my new Fiat 1.2 Lounge with electric SkyDom, chrome decoration (and a lot others but I have to lookf after the English names). It was raining a little, but then comes out the sun.

I loved every meter, it is amazing. I got home late night because I had to enojoy the night lights as well. There are no any problem with the headlights, only one thing I have to get used and this is the hard suspension which makes me poping on the bad Hungarian roads, but that is not a factor not to love my car.

I made some pictures but still not found the downloading cable.

Picts are coming soon :)

Rigoletta, Congratulations on getting your 500. With regards to the hard suspension one of our members found that when he checked his tyres for the first time since getting the car that they were over inflated. Apparently they are all like this and are adjusted on the PDI at the dealers but it may be worth checking that they are set at Front @2.2 bar and Rear @ 2 bar.
