I want a list of words that B&M understands without having to wade thru a manual. Im sure theres loads I could use if I could be bothered to sit and look them up. If I had designed it, I would have put secret words in it, like if you say "duck" then blue and me Brenda would say "quack quack" or something. Or when you say "windows" it says "unreliable"!

I know what you mean, it needs a thesaurus database so when you don't know the correct word but know another that fits the bill it will associate the two. (hopefully correctly, I don't think mine has an ejector seat but wouldn't like to find out the painful way if I said "escape")

I did find that it does have a glimmer of AI though because I wanted my music to be all jumbled up and so I said RANDOM and blow me down if the little beauty answered me with SHUFFLE ON which was just what I wanted. :slayer:

Was the duck pun intended?

Since the thread has veered onto memory sticks, can I ask a question that may have been asked already - I've searched - honest!!

Can ecoDrive be used the same time as the media player or does it need to be installed on to a USB stick by itself? Does that make sense???

I have read the posts - I am lost!!!! My husband downloaded an album for me last night, I think he is going to put it on a stick for me - I am having a lesson! I have seen a usb stick sold in the fiat showroom is this any good or it is too expensive? What stick do you use?
Only 18 days to go now!!!!!
I am very excited now.
I have sussed out my new phone, so I should be OK with that, on 1st March I will not see anyone I will be in the car trying to suss out B&M!
I put something on face book for italian girls names and got some quite nice ones so far!
My reg ends in C L J so I have been looking around - because she is italian.
Thanks for the info, I'm sure I'll be back on probably on the 2nd march crying to you all because I cannot do it, OR you never know I may become computer literate and be OK!!!

P.s I am not lost because of the posts although it is funny how we've gone from new car, to phones to sticks!
I am lost because I know nothing about sticks!!!!!!

I was putting all the music on an 8GB stick but my wife who drives the car most of the time can't learn how to use the menu system to scroll through the various folders so just keeps using the up and down buttons to try and find a song. :bang:

Hence I have just bought 10 x 1GB sticks for £1.99 each with free p&p from 7day shop.com. They are Bossa Nova White (just kidding but closer in colour match than N500's back bumper lol.) and I have just used marker pens to colour code the tops for identification.

She won't remember what the colours represent musically but hopefully will remember the last colour she used when she gets fed up and wants to change mood.

I bought mine off ebay, as I said it was just over £6 for an 8 gig, to be honest i bought it because it was white and red like my 500! However even a 1gig stick will hold lots of music. Dont get hung up on the whole music tracks thing, just imagine them as files in folders like on a pc, theres really nothing complicated about it. When you get the car, sit in it for a while with the stick plugged in and have a play with the system. Itll come to you!

Just to reiterate Grimwau's comment, www.7dayshop.com has some really good buys for memory sticks with free p&p! I ordered some yesterday.

After not being able to find the music I wanted on an 8gb memory stick I realised i'd loaded it as single tracks (fool!)
I deleted the lot and then dragged whole albums onto it. Now when I listen in the car, Hit the media button, say 'albums' then scroll thru, til I find what I want, then hit 'ok' to listen.......hope that makes sense!

yes it makes sense thank you. I am looking at some now on ebay - so much choice - would a 4gb one be OK? Or do I need more - you see I like all kinds of music depending on my mood and I mean motown, dance, trance etc.. so I just download my millions of c.ds on to it and then I can just put all my c.ds away then?! which is really good for me, because they take so much room in my car that I have at the moment - which I DONT KNOW IF YOU KNOW I WILL ONLY HAVE FOR ANOTHER 17 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

which I DONT KNOW IF YOU KNOW I WILL ONLY HAVE FOR ANOTHER 17 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hehe!

You can get heaps on a 4GB, yeah one little stick compared with a wad of Cds, amazing!
Once you get the hang of it you'll be well away, get it ready in time for your pick up eh?
One thing to remember is that the B&M has to read your stick before it starts to play it, don't be impatient if it doesn't start to play straight away, it'll get there. Oh and don't use password protected ones.
Tracy :)
