Seams a little harsh
Mine got removed ages ago because I hosted my images on Imageshack. Apparently it's better to use up the site's bandwidth than that of an external host! Not sure why but it's fine with me!
no its the rules.
follow them or your rule breaking will get tidied up.
I'd rather they get deleted so people learn than having dead pic links everywhere.

on FF pictures as well as events, even if they are particular to a specific model have to go in the generic gallery and events sections or the site admin/mods either lock, move or delete said threads
i looked for an AUP to explain the reasons for this but couldn't find it...

1: if you have a problem with a thread or question then PM the section mod,supermod or admin.theres no reason to start a thread

members motors use forum hosting so the pictures are always present. no point having a MM thread with no pictures is there Rob?
you seem to be referring to the whole forum regarding hosting? no, certain sections have rules for good reason(s).
im sure you can understand rules on certain sections rob?

see above,it gets tiring asking people who dont bother to read the one section sticky.

because ben pays a fair few grand out of his own pocket ontop of other monies raised through donations and ads for us to have unlimited banwith and massive unlimited server space. so may as well use it

Personally I don't like any external hosted images in any sections...
you can see my naked neighbour in the reflection in this image!
and my personal favorite... just look at the shine!
LL perhaps should be an exception however hotlinked images are always a danger - expecially if the owner of the hotlinked image changes it to something nasty.

it seems to be a case of someone has to break the rules to understand them...
Mods, this probably needs a lock down now.
Linking to externally hosted images subjects the forum to the content of the image being changed at any time. The only way we can confirm that the images don't break the rule above is by hosting it locally.
