After the initial dissapointment at Fiats valuation of the 500, I persevered with some other dealers and have today agreed a trade in price of £8100 for my 500 at the end of February. Thats £600 more than Fiat offered for this month:)

Anyway, Im not getting another Fiat right now as I couldnt take the poor trade in price offered so have strayed from the marque. This means for the first time in 12 years I wont have a Fiat. Never say never, I might return in a few years though... Im not going to say what Ive put a deposit on, instead I shall quietly refrain:)

Its a bit sad, but I cant muster any enthusiasm for my 500 anymore and am going to concentrate more on my bike and scooters, take a break from cars I think as people keep bumping into me in them.

Its a car costing £8600, so I have to pay just £500 for a yet to be built car which will be here mid March on an 09 plate. Was a tough deal which lasted over a week but I broke the dealership eventually:)
All Im saying is its got character:)

that is such a shame Barry, but I can understand  Does that mean you won't be posting on here too?

What you are getting must be REALLY bad if you won't tell us, go on, give us a little clue - not a Perodua Kenari mind you it would be probably have to be gold plated to be costing over £8k!

mmmm. For that price I would say either a Toyota Aygo/Pug 107/Citroen C1 or the new KA? Actually, it would not suprise me if you got the KA. I loved the previous one and was a little critical of the new one but noticed you reserved judgment on it.

Also from the short time on being here I sense you love Fiats so the new KA is about as close to a Fiat as one with a Fiat badge on it.

Anyway, whatever you get, I hope you have the best of luck with it as it was sad to read the bad luck you have had with your little 500.

Cheers!

Well, someone got it right:) Its a car I considered 4 years ago but didnt rate it, tried it again after its been revamped and still its rather a poor car... but reminded me of my old Fiat 126s which are also poor cars:) I actually liked it and after much haggling got the deal I wanted, the salesman said its a very unusual deal as they dont discount even in these times.... so its the rather troublesome Smart fortwo, a 71bhp Passion in red/silver with red interior and the frogeye clocks on the dash... Ill wait for the howls of laughter and pee taking:):)
Anyway, nothings permanent and looking at Smart used values I reckon in three years itll be worth around the same as a four year old 500 so not really much difference come trade in, and then I might get a Fiat again... Trepiuno should be here then:)

Ew hope it's better than the Smart I had - I hated the damn thing, sold it within 6 months. It was in 2003 so perhaps they've come on a bit as you say. I liked the car but the semi-auto (that's a laugh!) gearbox was the worst thing I've ever ever used! Good luck with it!
