I have the Pop, and have been having a play :chin:

1. Do I have a temperature thing-ma-jig on my computer? I couldn't find it when having a play and there was no option to turn it on/off on my display. Also could not find anything in the handbook to say if I have it or not, I'm guessing not!

2. Daylights. I don't get them, is this some new Euro law thing? I switched them on just for the hell of it. It's been dull the past week and I thought I would play along with the Volvo's.

3. I hear a "clunk clunk" around 5 mins into my journeys. I'm wondering if it is the car locking itself. My Mum's Smart does the same. I think I've missed this in the handbook.


I'm sure I'll find some more things to amuse myself with over the next few days

I have a Pop too and the outside temp display is only available if you opted for the heated / colour coded mirrors.

The daytime running lights are a european legislation. Audis, BM's and Volvos now have them as standard.

The doors should lock at around 7-8mph, so that should happen as soon as you drive off. Not sure what a klunk is much later down the road?

The "clunk" probably is the car locking itself, I never hear it any other time!

I havent read my book yet but you can turn the lights off if you dont want them on all the time - best to have them on though I reckon

yes you can turn them off. Much of the user settings are not available untill you are safely parked up so do be worried if you dont see much whilst driving.

Some countries require these. We use ours all the time. Was surprised to see that these are also the high-beam lights....

Check if the door handles have moved, although this should happen at approx 20KPH (I think) if this is activated on your car. 5 minutes seems a long time (unless you go straight into traffic).

I'm just going to keep them on permanently. When I picked the car up the dealership said they were on when explaining stuff to me. I got it home and they weren't so cue me having a look at it...

I drive quite slow out of my block of houses as it's tight, so until I get onto the main road through the village do I hear the "clunk"! My door handles don't move so this is why I was wondering if it was this.

If your handles don't move, no it isn't the doors locking...

Gem - sometimes my car takes a while to lock. You can check to see if you have the option "on" by going into the menu when you are at a stop (you can't do it when driving, it won't let you!).

DRL's are great .... I like annoying everyone else by having them on

I have the temp thing but i think someone has already answered that one.

I hope its not the same clunk that some of us hearing from our little 500's!!

I was wondering this, but as it was at the start of my journey I thought it may have been locking itself.
I can't say I have heard it everytime, but we shall see how it goes!

I have found the Autoclose section in the handbook now, so I shall set that going tomorrow.

Just on the Fiat 500 headlights I dont owna car yet myself but have heard that the headlights are useless. Is that true? Do they work effectively?

They're not useless, but they're not amazing either. A simple bulb upgrade sorts that out though.

My headlights work perfectly well without a bulb upgrade. Better than on my Cmax for sure.

I belive it's 15mph.

Yeah mine don't autoclose until I've got a bit of speed up.

page 17 in the owners manual it will autolock (if enabled) when the car exeeds 20kph or 12 mph

yeah it is about 15mph, also my lights seem to be good enough, maybe too good as people keep flashing me lol

And no, I havent got them set wrong so they are pointing to the sky

Sometimes I flash them back, just to blind the buggers lol :yum:

You know that you can check/adjust beams from inside car using the + & - buttons on the menu.

I'll give it a go, not everyone flashes - maybe just the jealous ones lol
